Met with charm and good humor at the door by the staff & owner.
Their suggestion of a shared meal, of wood fired pizza and beautifully aged and cooked steak was fantastic.
The steaks are BIG.
My wife thought it was the best steak she had eaten in years.
Great wine cellar.
We celebrated our good fortune at walking into this place with an excellent 2015 Barolo Riserva.
We left with a big smile on our faces.

My wife and I went here for dinner about two weeks after it opened while we were staying in the Eden Roc Hotel. It was clear that it was a new restaurant as the service was a bit scattered, but our waiter was very polite and attentive. The sommelier was eager to help us pick out a great bottle of wine from their gigantic list, which paired nicely with our pizza.
My wife ordered a fairly traditional margherita-esque pizza, while I got the octopus carpaccio pizza. Both were absolutely delicious. I never new I needed octopus carpaccio on a pizza, but lo and behold I do. We didn't order any steaks, but they looked and smelled delicious at a couple tables nearby. Some of the other pizzas on the menu looked very inventive and tasty as well.
The only complaint was that one patron at a table next to us brought an off-leash dog in, which wandered around the restaurant while it's neglecting owner ignored it and ate dinner. I love dogs, but I thought it was mildly annoying and the restaurant should have required to keep her dog on leash at her table.
Overall would absolutely recommend and would come back the next time we're in Positano

Pets are actually not allowed at all, even if we love them. There must have been a valid reason why we made an exception this time. ROC Steak and Pizza is an amazing dining experience, from the outstanding service to the stellar food. Our server Ezio went above and beyond to ensure we had a wonderful time and meal. He provided thoughtful food recommendations based on our preferences and was considerate throughout. We enjoyed the meal so much that we came back again on our last night in Positano! The first night we had the octopus pizza and 1.6 kg of Polish ribeye paired with their house wine for 3 people. The meal was incredibly delicious! The second time, we had a focaccia with tomatoes and focaccia with patanegra (jamon iberico with tuffles, along with 2.3 kg of Italian chianina + Scottish tomahawk + Australian ribeye collectively for 4 people. They also recommended pairing our meal with a sangiovese from Tenuta di Carleone, which is definitely going to be added to my wine collection. Everyone at the restaurant was welcoming, asked about our travels, and shared local cuisine. They were also very attentive and paced our meal so that we could enjoy each dish. We absolutely recommend!

Was staying at the Hotel Eden Roc so we had to try the pizza from Roc Pizza & Steak. Would have loved to try the steak but it was a July night and too hot to eat meat. The pizza was superb and very tasty. You could taste the fresh ingredients in every bite from the zesty sauce and delicious cheese which blend perfectly with the chewy dough and those bites you get with the fresh basil on top are just perfect. Now I want to go back and do my trip all over again!

A cozy restaurant in the heart of Positano, with an exceptional wine list accompanied by an incredibly thoughtful and kind sommelier. The menu sports not only delicious rustic & neo rustic pizza- but a nice assortment of chop house appetizers. We had the burrata and carpaccio. The burrata was fresh and creamy while the carpaccio was perfectly prepared and dressed in fresh truffles. Their steaks are offered a la carte or you have the option to select one of their steaks that are already accompanied by two side dishes. We had the tomahawk and it was absolutely delicious and cooked to perfection. Lastly the desserts (we each tried something different) were exceptional each in their own way. The service was amazingly balanced, never too on top of you, and never a moment where we were left needing or wanting anything. The staff was kind, thoughtful, and explained everything clearly. I highly recommend for anyone traveling to stop in for a steak at ROC. It was such a wonderful experience.

We had dinner here and our sommelier, Luigi, recommended the best wine to go with our steak and pizza. He was so knowledgeable about wine from all over the world, especially Italian wine, and knew exactly what to pair with our food. He recommended we attend his wine tasting he hosts at the hotel every afternoon at 5pm so we did! It was the most incredible experience. We started with an olive oil tasting then moved to the wine tasting. We learned so much about olive oil, the flavors, and uses and learned even more about wine, varietals of grapes, how to properly taste wine and what to pair it with. Luigi even gave us a plate of cheese with cheeses for each wine we tasted. We were laughing and telling stories by the end! Luigi was amazing, taught us so much, and showed us the best time! Thank you Luigi for making our vacation an experience to remember!

What an amazing experience . This restaurant is on the main level of Hotel Eden Roc but a destination for people not staying at the hotel as well. Incredible pizza, focaccia bread and steak. I went to an olive oil and wine tasting there earlier in the day-I learned so much from Luigi and was able to purchase wines , olive oil and Balsamic to send home. Luigi and Salvador’s remembered us at dinner that night and we were able to order our favorite local wine. The food is delicious and they made us feel like dear friends/ family!

When we arrived in Positano with no reservations, our concierge Mauro booked us dinner at Roc Pizza and Steak, and the size of our party meant we were taken of in the Wine Room.
Our sommelier was Luigi who assisted us in selecting some local wines to enjoy, and the team took very good care of us for the entire evening. He shared his wine knowledge, information about the area, and was very entertaining. He ensured that my sister felt very special for her 50th Birthday dinner. The bread was some of the best we have had in Italy so far (the focaccia was outstanding), we shared a variety of Pizzas and my husband and son had steaks which were also delicious. They have classic to gourmet interpretations of pizza - and they were all awesome.
We were able to enjoy great cocktails, and if you are not interested in having local wines (you should, there are some excellent Falanghina, Fiano for white, and Aglianico for red), they have an excellent wine list from Italy and elsewhere. As well, Luigi invited us to join him and other guests for a wine tasting the following day, where local wines are paired with local cheeses and it was delicious - you will learn some interesting facts from Luigi as he has his WSET Level 3 and Italian Wine Certification - as well as a long career in service (including in London).
We had an absolutely fun and delicious evening and will return if we are ever back in Positano. Ask for Luigi!

We had the most wonderful dinner and service at Roc. Luigi and his staff took wonderful care of us two nights in a row. We felt so valued and at home. They went above and beyond to accomodate us and make us feel special. We are from Texas, which is known for beef, and we were excited to try the beef from Spain both nights. The oven cooked the meat perfect with medium rare temperature and a nicely charred crust. Before dinner on the 2nd night, we did an olive oil tasting and a wine tasting. Luigi hosted us, and he was so knowledgeable and passionate.
This is an absolute must to do when you're in the region. We absolutely loved our time at this restaurant, and we will sure miss it when we are back in the states.

I genuinely wish that I would get the five star experience that everyone else seemed to have - unfortunately, this was not the case.
First of all - the seating. I was seated outside even though I had a reservation - according to the restaurant's comments here, outside seating is reserved for the walk-in costumers only. I am assuming that it was done because I was there by myself, so I would generally be fine with seating outside - reservation or not - but it was raining that night and for some reason I was seated exactly in the seat that had partial overhead cover (the one on the very far right), so when the rain started again - it rained on me. Big thanks to the staff member that moved other customers a bit to the left so that I wouldn't have to sit it the rain the whole time.
Sadly, my pizza was very soggy with a couple of slices that were somehow burned on the bottom. Looked absolutely incredible when it arrived and I tried to finish it all but couldn't.
Cannot say much about the service - I had three different servers that all had very limited interactions with me, i.e. one of them took my order, another one delivered the pizza to my seat and the third server gave me my check. Not much else to add.
Overall - highly disappointing. Felt completely invisible when I was there. I truly wish this experience was different as I cancelled another reservation to be able to visit this restaurant. What a sad experience.

Dear L6560BPsp, I'm sincerely sorry you haven't had a positive experience. I feel we have missed a chance in this case, and I want to apologize for the feeling you have taken with you of not being cared during dinner. I will just add few details to your comment, with respect.
We have some less formal seating on highchairs on a small balcony outside. This location is not bookable on-line. Like happened in your case, we just propose the balcony place sometimes, but it is never assigned before. Maybe, the person who welcomed you thought you may have found interesting to be seated next to other Customers, being more in some kind of action outside, as a single person, I'm just supposing. Of course, you could have chosen to stay with a regular table accommodation, in the case.
That specific evening, some sudden rain surprised the staff, this is true. It is always a particular and chaotic time when it rains, since a lot of people tries to walk in from the busy road outside. Even if I know, there are no excuses for not extending the cares you deserved, I also want to ask for your comprehension, at the same time.
I would love to have another chance, why not, and I still thank you for visiting our restaurant, with many other options in town.

I am absolutely blown away by my experience here! Every employee was welcoming, smiling, and laughing and that alone is contagious! We were curious about the meat selections and they actually showed one of us the cuts of meat and explained them. From the bread, to the meat, sides, and the wine it all not only tasted phenomenal but was an experience of itself!

Best steak I’ve ever had. Wonderful service. A must try when visiting Positano. They showed us the different steaks and talked about each one and then brought it to our table perfectly cooked. We had an amazing dinner.

Excellent food - pizza is authentic, incredible selection of aged meats cooked to perfection.
Wonderful friendly service - they let us in early as we were waiting outside in rain and thunder.
Restaurant ambience and fitout is beautiful. Great artwork on display.

They treated us very well!!
I highlight the service, especially the winemaker, we ate very good pizza and chorizo steak!!
Since I don't like cooked meat, they brought me a little grill that I finished cooking.

My friend and I shared an olive oil tasting with Luigi. We were delighted by his passion, knowledge and expertise. A memorable experience that we are so grateful to take home with us…..along with a bottle of our finest from the tasting.
I highly recommend a tasting for any person who wishes to engulf themselves further in to the rich history and passions of Italy’s heart, food wine and olive oil.
