First of all, be wary of the latest reviews you read about this restaurant, which in my opinion are not truthful. It is absolutely not true that they are rude and unhelpful, I can confirm that they are practically the opposite, initially I too was skeptical about stopping at this restaurant given the latest reviews but my partner insisted that we stop. I must say that never was a more appropriate choice. We went for lunch on Epiphany day after a trip back from Tuscany. We arrived without a reservation with the hope of finding a seat given the time (around 2.30pm) unfortunately it was super full, my partner still asked if we could wait for a table to become free, and the girl at the entrance was very helpful and kind I underline kindly told us to wait and if someone didn't show up during the second round of reservations, someone would seat us. At around 2.40pm we were seated and they served us quickly and with all the kindness in the world. In fact, I'll tell you more, with us at the table we had a 3 year old child and upon our request to have a plate of pasta with tomato sauce so that he would be hungry even though the room was full he was served within a few minutes. Really nothing to say, the dishes are super good and traditional. We will certainly return with the hope of finding a bit of snow.

Here you can eat homemade food, and if you want to try it you absolutely have to book as it is always full!

"I was recently in Roccaraso and I was lucky enough to discover a culinary jewel in the heart of the centre. Although the photos of the restaurant hadn't initially thrilled me, once I crossed the threshold I found a welcoming atmosphere, enriched by the presence of bagpipes and of pleasant music. The food exceeded all expectations: a delicious appetizer, irresistible gnocchi, exquisite kebabs and a delicious dessert. The service was quick and the waiters demonstrated great competence. We called for a reservation for 2 people. I who am celiac, asked what I could eat, the choices were only one for the first (gnocchi with tomato sauce) and then all the second courses and side dishes. We asked if we could bring pasta from outside.
The lady was very gouge saying I had to make do.
Arrived at 20:00 sharp, with a table booked, we were asked to sit, but then if another table was freed we had to move, to make room for another table booked x6.
We sat down, and read the menu, ordering directly 2 green salads, a mixed grill and a cut of Angus.
In the meantime we were served water and bread for my boyfriend, but for me nothing, there was no gluten-free bread. They then served us the salad which was mixed and not green, as we ordered it. The waiter replied that the mixed salad they have included adding carrots and cherry tomatoes to the already mixed salad.
Then they brought us the main courses, the Angus tagliata was excellent, while the ember mixture was covered with a lot of oregano and green peppercorns, not specified on the menu.

We went to this place on New Year's Eve... Terrible location, terrible service, we ate with plastic cutlery and placemats despite the very high price for dinner. We drank poor wine and not to mention the sadness of the place which was not suited to the New Year's Eve evening, without entertainment and without even a bit of music. Trattoria in the outskirts of Roccaraso but easily accessible. Friendly staff although a bit "hurried" but helpful. Discreet menu with different choices between appetizers, first and second courses. We already visited last year. This time we tasted mainly the first courses among which we particularly highlight the polenta that was well liked even if it should be served warmer. For many like us, we go there to change, partly out of affection... they say "let's go to the ladies...", but it's a place that needs to improve. Basically, the first courses, desserts, chips and side dishes are good. The grilled meats, sausages and kebabs, in our opinion, should improve in quality, and be offered with a better cooking process that does not ruin the taste, and offered with fewer spices that cloud the flavor (perhaps it is a matter of personal taste ). The house red wine was not to our liking (maybe better to have it tasted first). Kitchen odors should be better aspirated to avoid that unpleasant stench that permeates your clothes at the end of the evening. One of the two owners/managers is really up to the task (physically and in practice), very kind and truly professional. The staff is courteous, kind and always ready. Our note regarding a dish that our child did not like (sausage and scamorza, which he loves in other local restaurants) was immediately accepted, and a lot of attention was paid to it, we also received a symbolic "rebate", what can I say? ... very kind. We found the historic owner/manager, older and more expert, a little impatient when asked for clarification on the dishes offered, not very patient and helpful in general although courteous, too decisive in defining the customer's order, perhaps it was a "bad" evening or it was a distorted impression on our part... well. I hope for us customers, for them to whom we are fond, for the collaborators of the owners, who don't stop for a minute and are always "on the spot" ready to satisfy everyone, that they improve in the quality of some foods and in the various proposals at the customer.

Tired of paying 56 euros per head per person for yet another day for only 10 open ski slopes (small criticism of the Roccaraso facility) we decided to spend the last day of the holiday having lunch in a restaurant. 12 people went by reservation, the The restaurant is small, no more than 60 seats and the menu is very vast. We were all pleasantly surprised by the abundant and tasty dishes with fair prices, neither low nor high. We will definitely return

We took a portion of cazzarielli with beans and a portion of sliced angus. Both good but definitely not exciting. For dessert, a terrible, hard and industrial chocolate tart. Value for money to be reviewed, high prices compared to the quality of the dinner as a whole. Very positive note: one of the few places in Roccaraso and the surrounding area to be pet friendly, they welcomed our dog with courtesy.

A somewhat negative experience, the only positive note being the meatballs. The first courses are inedible but the most annoying thing is the owner who is already starting to get nervous, as when she gets close to the shift change, a lot of people start to arrive. The problem is that the shift change time was at 9.30pm, and already at 9.20pm he began to justify himself to the newly arrived customers that we didn't get up from the table, pointing at us and obviously, raising his voice to make us understand over and over again. We went to dinner in this place to try something distinctive, we had a good spelled soup and pecorino with honey, the disappointment came in the second course, the kebabs, which should be an Abruzzo workhorse, actually arrive raw. I kindly asked the waiter if he would let me cook them a little more, but they came back worse than before, burnt on the top and raw on the bottom. Nothing displeased me much. I hope for a next time.

I had an extremely disappointing experience. I had booked a table for Saturday evening at 9.30pm, confirmed by them on the phone the previous Tuesday. However, on Friday evening, a few hours before the appointment, I received a confirmation message at 8.44pm, which unfortunately I didn't see in time. As a result, the restaurant unilaterally decided to cancel my reservation without any consideration for the inconvenience caused.
The lady at the restaurant, who I had the displeasure of speaking to on the phone, was extremely rude and disrespectful. He showed complete disinterest in the situation and responded in a very rude manner. It's amazing that a place can treat customers this way, especially considering I've always had the good sense to cancel a reservation if I can no longer honor it.
Additionally, I believe it is critical that the restaurant informs customers of the cancellation policies. I was never told that they would cancel the booking if I didn't reply to a confirmation message, which is completely unacceptable. I have already informed numerous friends who frequent this restaurant about my negative experience and none of them intend to return. I will also avoid frequenting this place in the future and will strongly advise against it to others.
