I am gonna share my FB post about our experience here in Sept 2019 because it does the best job explaining why this restaurant is amazing: Ok so the first day in Italy has been challenging. First our flight was delayed three hours. That caused us to have to rush around the rest of the day. Oh and they switched planes on us. Instead of a brand new plane where we had reserved seats in an exit row, we were the middle two seats in a row of four in a cabin where the air conditioning didnā€™t work. We also got on the ā€œlocalā€ train (3 hour trip) for Naples by accident instead of the express (1 hour trip). It caused us to nearly miss the last train from Naples to Sorrento. So by the time we got to our Airbnb we hadnā€™t eaten or drank anything for 10 hours, hadnā€™t slept for 24+ hours, and were cranky AF (at least I was). Then we went to our first Italian pizza place around midnight local time. It was a tiny little place but very quaint. There was a friend of the owner just hanging out playing accoustic guitar. The ownerā€™s wife gave us some of her own food she was about to eat so we could try it. The bruschetta was maybe the best I ever had. The tomatoes looked like they just picked them from a garden. And the pizza was delicious. Then the guitar player played Ed Sheeranā€™s ā€œPerfectā€, the song we walked down the aisle to, and my wife started to cry. I told the restaurant that it was our honeymoon and why that song was significant. Suddenly the guitar player came over to us and serenaded us. The restaurant started all singing along and waterfalls gushed from my wifeā€™s eyes. By the time it was all over, my wife was getting hugs from the ownerā€™s wife, the owner hugged and kissed me on the cheek (like Europeans do), and the misadventures of earlier in the day faded away. We ended up eating there again a few days later. The food was once again amazing. We spent 23 days in Italy and probably only ate at 1-2 restaurants that were better than this, but each was significantly more expensive. Come here for a delicious, affordable meal with a friendly staff that handle Americans tourists well and where you can get to know the husband and wife who own the place.

Davide was out waiter he was great help welcoming and offered good options on the Menu followed his recommendations and it was delightful dish of the day. There is a relaxed atmosphere in the restaurant and it was great value for the quality/quantity of food. Will be returning once I am back in Sorrento

The owners are the heart of this place, and they make you feel like family from the moment you enter. The food was so tasty, we had pizza, salads and excellent home-made pasta. Thereā€™s an outdoor terrace in the back, with great atmosphere, but take-away is also available. The owner Alberto, who is a wonderful person, made our food himself and we basically just told him what we would like (which deviated from the menu) and he was very accommodating. We will miss this place and would certainly come back.

We chose this as our last restaurant to visit on our final day in Sorrento, after reading so many positive reviews we knew it had to be good. From the moment we arrived to the actual meal I felt really uncomfortable. We were told to sit where we wanted only to be moved to another table. We ordered 2 pizzas and a side of fries. Other tables were given bags of bread whilst waiting for their meal to arrive but we were the only ones without. Another couple arrived after us but got their food before us. Once the food arrived- the pizza wasn't hot and the toppings just ran off the dough when attempting to cut/eat it although my partners pizza was pretty good. The fries tasted like they'd been cooked previously and then re-cooked in old oil. The staff went to the trouble with every table to say "Bon apetit" and ask "how's your meal" but seemed to avoid us and even went in between our table to reach another without a word to us. During the meal and right until the end where every other table were frequently being checked on, we weren't asked for any further drinks, any desserts, nothing. Others were given complimentary after dinner aperitifs and the only joy we received from the staff was when we wanted to leave. Because the tables were so close it was easy to tell when we weren't getting the same service as everyone else. That's what really made me wonder why - and it felt like they wanted us to leave. The reviews did not match even in the slightest to what we experienced and it spoiled our last day in Sorrento. The other restaurants we visited gave 5 star service and in all honesty, I felt like we were just one of those tables they didn't like. Just wish we could've experienced what the others did.

This restaurant serves the best food in Sorrento and surrounding areas. The chefs have served top class food every time we have visited and Alberto, Federicia, Bob and Rosa could not make you feel more welcome. Worth a visit and you wonā€™t be disappointed. I promise you.

BEST PIZZA ever, anywhere at a friendly, busy local. We didnā€™t book as such we were seated in a busy thoroughfare next to the kitchen and toilet however this did not distract us from the delicious food at extremely reasonable prices. We shared the arancini, courgette flower followed by carbonara and a couple of pizzas all of which were delicious. A shame we only discovered on the last night of our holiday otherwise I am sure we would have eaten here more frequently.

The pizza here is just the absolute best and the staff and so down to earth and very easy going it's refreshing. If the staff recommend a pizza go with it, they're the experts and you won't be disappointed. If you're in the area our just looking to get away from Sorrento Town centre this is place to go.

When we arrived at 7:30 the garden area was empty. By 8 it was full so we knew we had chosen a good restaurant. Service was fantastic and gave recommendations. We had the aranchini balls, gnocchi which was a first for us and omg it was so delicious, bruschetta, sea bream and cheese ravioli followed by tiramisu! Yes we was stuffed but wanted to try everything and it was all so good!! We had 2 very large beers in a glass that the manager let us have and 3 glasses of wine. Total ā‚¬97 and worth it. Canā€™t wait to return when we come back to Sorrento as this was by far our best restaurant.

Avoid this restaurant if you are allergic to tourist traps. After a week in Rome where we had some of the most amazing meals at different restaurants in the Monti neighbourhood, this was a huge disappointment. The service was so 'efficient' and aimed at getting people in and out again that our plates were removed as we took our last bite. Our pasta was substandard - my travel companion's gnocchi was chewy and they skimped on the seafood. Furthermore, there is a cover charge of 2,50 euro per person 'for the cutlery, etc' (as explained when we queried it since we never paid a cover charge in any Roman restaurant). I guess we should've known when we saw that they served a pizza with chips as a topping ... Il Ruttino is NOT for the discerning traveller!

We were staying near to this restaurant last week and had a reasonable lunch one day so we recommended the restaurant to another couple staying at our hotel so we all went back on the Friday 7th October 2022. Our friend and my wife chose a red snapper to share which was recommended by the waiter but no price was listed in the menu. I overheard another couple complaining about their bill just before our order was delivered. The one fish was nice but not a very large portion between 2 people but when we got the bill we were all shocked and my wife and me embarrassed because the fish cost 60 euros. This is obviously a rip off so I would advise going elsewhere to eat.

Had eyed up this spot before our trip to sorrento as it had brilliant reviews & was so close to our hotel - so glad we went. We actually ended up visiting for food 3 times throughout our stay. The food is brilliant & really reasonably priced, plus lovely servers & staff who were always happy to see us. We were given free bread that was leftover from making pizzas on one of the days which absolutely delicious, plus we received some meloncello on the house as our server heard us say we had not tried it before (it was delicious!) We tried the pizzas which were the nicest we had all trip. Plus would recommend the lobster paccheri & mussels. The pictures of the food donā€™t actually do the portion size justice, as the lobster paccheri plate was absolutely huge & Iā€™ve never had such a large portion of mussels (for just ā‚¬10!?) So glad we came here, food is excellent value, even if youā€™re not staying local to the Santā€™Agnello area you need to try this place!

We were warmly greeted outside by a member of staff who even stopped traffic to get us in! Very unassuming from the outside but a large outside, covered area is at the back of the restaurant. The menu was extensive and we saw other diners order an array of things however we knew we had to get the pizza after seeing it on Instagram. It really did not disappoint - this pizza was unique, I couldn't even dream of a pizza so perfect! The base was exceptional and the flavours/toppings were unique and never something you could even dream of getting in the U.K. - I had a pistachio, mortadella and burrata pizza and it was heavenly. They did a wide range of other toppings and I'm sure you can't go wrong with any. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. The prices were also really budget friendly and I would've expected to pay more for such great quality. You absolutely cannot miss this place if you come to Sorrento!

If you want a no nonsense place to eat with good food this is the eatery to head for. Located a stones throw from the seafront it looks like a takeaway from the outside but thereā€™s a decent size seating area around the back. Pizza was spot on and came in at ā‚¬10, a beer was ā‚¬6. A basic place to eat nice straight forward Italian food at a good price.

Visited this restaurant while staying in sant agnello and was amazing. The staff are so friendly and welcoming,. When we visited I had the carbonara twice and would recommend it as it was the best I have ever tasted, my grandaughter had pizza twice and loved it. After our meal we had a free limonchello, it's really reasonably priced and wish we would have visited more, while we were on holiday. Make sure you visit here as you won't be disappointed.

Had Buchestta at ā‚¬5 and Pasta de Giornio, no price on menu, turned out to be ā‚¬27 (shock horror) monk fish stew and badly made homemade pasta. Beware of cover charge ā‚¬5 per person for scrappy bread and cheap olive oil. BTW the red wine comes out cold, but the lemoncello does not. This place needs to get their act together - they are giving Italian hospitality a bad name, with such low standards in a beautiful part of the world.
