excellent food, good service, and friendly staff. Given the scattering of judgments on this place, one might surmise that it all depends on the season. In early April, with a half-empty place, we got what we expected. Of course, one needs to go with the flow. Close to 1st of may, one eats e.g. "trippe alla volterrana" - tripe. It... More

We were referred here for lunch by one of the locals, and it was a great experience. We chose the florentine steak, a cacio y Pepe pasta and the pasta y fagiole. All were delicious. The steak is served on the rare side, tender and affordable. The pasta y fagiole, in particular, was out of this world. Since I was... More

It is the off season so finding somewhere open for dinner is not easy. We found Don Beta's just walking down the street. It was early, 7:30 is early to eat in Europe, and no one was in the restaurant but we decided to take a chance and were so glad we did. My husband had a green salad and... More

We stopped in for lunch while wandering through Volterra and had a nice meal. It's a "cozy" place and definitely thought it the food was pretty good.

We had a great pizza bolognese which we shared. It was perfect for just the two of us and we had coke to go along. Our total bill came to 15.40 euro. They have these nice booths outside of the restaurant where weather permitting you can sit 4 people comfortably and the plus side of this you get to see... More

After walking around in an ice-cold Volterra, the warm Dom Beta restaurant in Via Matteotti looked just like the right place for us, even if it was empty when we arrived. But the place soon filled up, and when we left next to two hours later, it was full on the ground floor – but apparently thye had more tables... More

Very cozy and fun atmosphere. We were lucky to get a table without a reservation. So many customers were turned away because the restaurant was full, and the customers were disappointed because they really wanted to dine here. The prices are affordable, so it's a win-win.

This restaurant was recommended as one of the better places to eat by our tour operator. Food and service were really good but we were kept amused by the waiters and the way they managed customers - the nonchalance and 'business like' and no nonsense approach was quite amusing. Great experience only spoilt by a party that all seemed to... More

The Resturant had been recommended to us. We had a nice table . The food was interesting and good . Service was very spoty. They didn't seem to have enough servers. Overall the pasta dishes were good , house wine as expected . Would have recommended higher if the service was better .

Wow such varied reviews. Can only speak for lunchtime. We had one of our best meals of our two weeks in Italy here today, albeit only lunch and for a fraction of the price of some other meals. Tonight is our last dinner before end of vacation and we are actually worried as to whether it will measure up to... More
