Wild boar 'stew' with black olives excellent. Deserts fantastic. Pasta dishes all good. Waiter was fantastic company on a quiet cool Monday evening. The 2 old wells are worth seeing.

My wife and I visited Volterra on our tour of Tuscany and chose IL Pozzo deli Etruschi and had pici and a antipasto . The food was excellent and the server Luca was very attentive and efficient. The menu was varied with local delicacies and Tuscan treats.I recommend visiting the next time you are in Tuscany.

I visited in late September when there weren't many people about, but in high season, Volterra can get packed, so it may be that Il Pozzo Degli Etruschi is the only place you can get into. In which case, you won't be in a bad place, with some reservations. At first I thought the lad serving us was an escapee... More

Exploring Volterra we came across this place. Sat at a table outside. The pizza was great with thin base and great taste. Good choice of pizzas for vegetarians. The selection of local beers was a surprise which we had to try although a little pricey. I definitely eat here again.

5th time I've been here on my 3rd visit to Volterra and it won't be my last. One of my favourite restaurants of all time.

The first night in Volterra we ended in this restaurant which looked cozy. The waiters were very kind and the place was charming. The food was good, but nothing special. A little expensive compared to the quality.

We went to Il Pozzo Degli Etruschi based on the recommendation of a friend of ours (always the best way to find good restaurants). The steaks they serve are amazing, especially the steak with herbs and local bacon. The caprese salad is quite mediocre, especially the presentation. A recommendation to the chef would be to keep it simple. No garnish... More

In a country with phenomenal places to eat, this was average. While we understand that we do not speak Italian, this was also the ONLY restaurant (or hotel, B&B, shop, etc.) where they refused to speak English. What made that circumstance worse was the servers across the street continually doing their best to try to speak with their English speaking... More

Was there bevause of the good reviews … bad exprience! The wine was sour, the food really tasteless. Aditionally we had a hair in the ravioli. The seating is tiny and uncomfortable… and quite dirty except of the tables. overall - avoid.

Decent food, decent wine. Prices were a little higher than nearby restaurants. We had an average experience, but based on the reviews were expecting more. Not or beat meal in Volterra
