A great little find on the edges of the industrial area near the river. An excellent menu de jour with generous portions and good service.

We visited on my wife's birthday and it was a real treat. In fact she said that the meal was one of the best she had eaten. The service was very friendly and attentive and the desserts were excellent, especially the brulee.

Our meal at L'Ambroisie exceeded our expectations. The service was excellent, but the food is ultimately what we came for. The steak accompanied with a beet/wine reduction was incredible. We arrived early and noticed the tables all filled as the evening went on. The modest decor is unassuming but you will not be disappointed with the cuisine. We live in... More

We where recommended this restaurant by a wine cave expert so happy to trait out. We ended up there for dinner and lunch the next day. On both occasions the food was excellent and the owner was very friendly and helpful. If in Macon I highly recommend this restaurant.

The food wasn't bad. I just expected more because it is a Michelin restaurant. I guess my hopes were up too high. I had an avocado appetizer that was pretty good because it was interesting and different. The beef was fine but I don't think it was done with sous-vide immersion so it tasted like regular beef. We arrived at... More

We had a beautiful meal in this restaurant which is not in a very attractive looking area. The gentleman who waited on our table was very friendly and helpful. The food quality was excellent. An enjoyable evening

Looking for a memorable French dinner, we chose this restaurant. Our instincts served us well. The beautifully prepared duck liver started us off. A "nage langoustines" was superb. The filet boeuf was excellent although my wife's "natur" was better than my "fume" - but nothing ventured, nothing gained. The cheese platter was good but conventional. The strawberry creation that my... More

This was our second time here, having come with friends in August. Both times we have had the 17€ lunchtime menu de jour, and both times it has been excellent. Today's warm chicken liver 'gateau' starter was superb - just right for a cold day. The restaurant was just about full, and I guess apart from us everyone was local... More

L’Amboisie, Macon Unprepossessing road with the restaurant right on the corner looking at a dead indoor market over a couple of pedestrian crossings leading nowhere in particular. We were the first to arrive at 12.30 for Saturday lunch but were followed a few minutes later by a grand-mere and companions of various ages. The glasses of cremant were OK. We... More
