Typical French Brasserie. Good style, Good food, Good service. Everything is at the expected level of a place where you will pay 50+ euros to have a full dinner. If you are looking for a real french classic experience then this is the place to go.

I dine here often when in St Germain. The location is idea, the food is reliably good, service is classic French (we always get a waiter with a good sense of humor, excellent advice on wines, and good/positive attitude). St Germain has many good restaurants. However, many of the best are small and practically impossible to get into with reservations... More

Great lunch today with very discerning friends. Perfectly cooked veal rognons, and a superb lemon tart. Friendly, efficient and warm service.

Excellent seafood platters. Service is starched and proper. Wine is appropriate. This institution in saint germain is a little procy but is worth your wile.

The Brasserie du Theatre Serger SAS place Charles de Gaulle78100 Saint Germain en Laye is at the end of the RER station subway. It is an moderately expensive fish establishment unless you get there by 12:00 for lunch you will need to book as it is very popular with well heeled locals. If you like oysters this is the place... Very nice place to invite friends for a discovery of Saint-Germain, with a fantastic view on the castle, conveniently close to RER train and parking. Good bistro cuisine and fresh seafood. But not so warmly interior since the refurbishment. And prices skyrocketed. So by far not the best value for money in Saint-Germain. And in addition surprisingly not friendly welcome... More

Summary based on visit in August 2016. Overall, this is a good semi-high end restaurant near the Chateau St. Germain and the city center. Slow service and a bit of an attitude from the staff, but food was excellent quality and pricing was fair, if a bit higher than expected. We brought a group of 20 people, had a reservation... More

This is a wonderful restaurant, extremely well located in St Germain, in front of the chateau and its gardens, and right by the metro. The food is delicious. The 20 euro menu served for lunch on weekdays is excellent value. The décor is very nice and the service is impeccable. All staff are very friendly.

To be fair, the fresh shellfish was excellent but the cooked dishes were awful. I ordered fresh tuna mi-cuit on a bed of aubergine. The tuna was grey and tasteless. The aubergine (my favourite veg) was drenched in oil. It reminded me of the sort of food you used to get in London 30 years ago.
