We had a fantastic meal here! The meal itself was one of our favourites whilst visiting Val Thorens, high quality with an extensive authentic choice. Would highly recommend the steak with fois gras but all dishes we ate were amazing!! The restaurant itself was also lovely and quaint! The only reason I have not rated this a 5* is purely... More

Lovely authentic savoyard food. Very large portions. The raclette for 2 is enough for 3/4 and same for the fondue. Steak tartar was OK according to our companion. Overall good service, lovely food and great little place to eat. Make sure you book ahead.

Fantastic restaurant. Friendly, fun, relaxed with amazing fondue. Ask for them to finish it off with an egg the traditional way. The meat raclette great fun for the children. Really recommend giving this place a go.

We enjoyed dinner in La Chaumerie, the steaks were very good, however it is quite large and has a bit of a cafe/canteen feel to it. However this does give it an easy-going atmosphere and if you've been eating high-end French food for a few nights in a row this was quite nice. I would certainly eat here again, but... More

Bland steak. Soggy chips. Girlfriend got food poisoning from the steak tartare and was up all night with diarrhea. Not sure how they get away with this.

This is a pretty typical Savoyard alpine restaurant. All the usual favourites. A little limited if you don't want to do the classics. Good to visit with a group.

it's the only place in valto with reasonable prices and good well cooked food (including the michelin restaurants...) service - the restaurant was full but the waitress was attentive, smart and quick - just as you want them to be after a day of ski food - good frsnh products and well cooked basic french cuisine! a very good surprise... La chaumiere serves the most delicious dishes! For cheese lovers the "fondue" or the "raclette" are simply amazing :) It is served with super tasty meat and potatoes. I had little room left for desert but the lovely owner told us that all the deserts are homemade so I had to take one... and it was just really really yummy!... More
