Tried this fayre & square pub as had never been there before.Myself and my partner were not disappointed and would definately visit again. The food was excellent, well cooked, fresh and hot. The staff were good and plenty of them on duty. The pub is well laid out and decor reminds you of an old large farmhouse with wooden beams on the ceiling,plenty... More

We called in here on our way home from Bristol Airport. We were a little unsure as we arrived because it didn't look as busy as we would have expected for a carvery on a Sunday. We were very pleasantly surprised though. "A warm welcome" is written above the door and was genuinely delivered by all of the seven or... More

Stopped here a couple of years ago on the way back from the airport and had a lovely Sunday carvery and today we stopped again. Amazing customer service and great food a real treat well worth the money and will certainly stop when passing next time.

Over the past 5 years i've stopped at most of the pubs on the road to Bristol Airport to have a bite to eat. Some have been pretty good, and some absolutely awful. The Star is a carvery pub, and whilst they do offer other fare, I can't comment on that. There was a choice of 3 meats - beef,... More

Came across this place by accident whilst we were looking for somewhere that served food all day. They serve carvery 7 days along side a "pub grub" menu. I was informed that the beef was delicious & the gammon was also very good, turkey was also on offer. There was a good selection of vegetables, roasted parsnips being one of... More

We wondered into The Star late evening on a Saturday, and it was busy, usual entrance "Please wait here to be seated" so we waited, and waited, and waited, as staff on the bar watched us wait, and staff passed us a couple of times. Eventually we were attended to and shown to a table, where our needs were taken... More

This pub is very good but the food is only average. The problem with all day carvery is just that! The food is on display a long time and can be a little dried up if there are not many customers as was the case on the day we visited ( 1pm on a Wednesday ).On the plus side with this... More

Called in early one Thursday evening on spec. Only people in the pub. Opted for carvery, Two large slices of delicious meat. Even though the food had been standing a while on the carvery counter the meat was still moist and good range of delicious vegetables. Menu looked good. Will definitely return for steaks. Saturday nighttill 8pm is steak night.... More
