We stayed at your lovely pub several times during 2016 in room 4 with our two grandchildren and found all the facilities to be ideal, especially the outside play area. Sorry to learn about the water leak, hope that you are back in business soon so that we can visit again. Best regards, Ben& jean Scanlon.

I tried to ring Ivan and he didn't return my call. Alan was charming and polite and it is not his fault it was so awful. He tried his best in his well mannered way. We had booked in for the night and had lunch. We were told no chef as they were not busy. Had lunch anyway My husband... More

Before I respond directly to your comments, I would like to take this opportunity to say that however disappointed you felt, the manner in which you spoke to members of my team on the telephone earlier this week, was in my opinion totally unacceptable. They were upset by the language you chose to use, particularly my manager, to whom you... More

Excellent relaxing lunch in front of cosy log fire. Highly recommend wild boar sausages and the venison pie. Generous portions. Great idea of "micro desserts" (smaller portion plus coffee or tea combo). Well behaved dog welcome in the bar area (understandably not in the restaurant). Well kept Rother Valley bitter. Good value, good friendly service. Thank you. Will definitely return.

Thank you for your wonderful review. Our large inglenook really comes into its own this time of year and does give a cosy feel to the bar. We are well known for our homemade pie and the mini dessert option has proved really popular for when guests feel they fancy something sweet but can't manage a full blown pudding! Thank... More

This beautiful charming really traditional local village pub is a favourite for food, firkins and fireplaces. Ypu can sup great real ales (just love all the hand pumped ales), wander through to the garden views across the Rother flood plain, or challenge each other with a game of pool (don't forget to use the shortie cue on the corner). Or... More

Can't vouch for the food as we wanted a decent pub with decent beer. ( few and far between) This pub scores very highly on both counts...I'll be back.( bonus : nice friendly dogs and their owners, and a few minutes away from Northiam station on the Kent and East Sussex Railway ....Steam trains! ).

We had lunch here on a Friday and there were several other people eating but still plenty of free tables. Starters were Devilled Whitebait for me which came with a descent size pot of tartar sauce and was a really large portion of small, crispy fish accompanied by somebread and butter. It was much better than whitebait I had a... More

I chose the White Hart on the recommendation of the owner of the B&B where I was staying. I had the steak and ale pie which was tasty and generously sized. The accompanying gravy was particularly good. Service was prompt and good without being intrusive. It's a good pub for dinner but not so much that I felt the desire... More

The service was excellent, very friendly and professional. I had the Haddock & prawn gratin which was excellent, so delicious, I was very impressed and satisfied. My husband had the pie which was lamb and he said it was excellent. There was a very generous amount of filling. His only comment was that he would have liked more gravy, but... More
