The Curlew is well worth a visit! There is always a warm welcome by the owner and the food is lovely! They catch their own lobster and crab so you can't get much fresher; the lobster salad is a work of art! The rhubarb deserts, be it crumble or tart, are delicious too. There is a nice selection of Irish... More

We love it here. Nuala the owner is always welcoming and a little eccentric. The food is amazing with freshly caught lobster and crab from the bay as fresh as they come and all the salad home grown, even the honey is from the garden. The rhubarb pie is the best in the world tart, tangy and sweet. The cafe... More

Visit Donegal regularly and always call to Packie and Nuala in The Curlew for lunch. Food and hospitality is excellent. On our last trip Packie let my kids handle live crabs and lobsters which were freshly caught - not just a cafe but an brilliant experience.

Quirk beyond belief, friendly attentive pleasant staff. Ordered Chowder and got what was an OK fish soup important ingredients missing. Cafe was very cold mid day in August. Some will love this place and suggest you try it and make your n mind up.

Me and a friend stopped by for a bite when few other places were open. The setting and environment was really quaint; a small house with a sea view and a homely environment, and filled with handcrafted items for sale. The food tasted very good and were at a decent price, and the woman serving us was very friendly, making... More

My wife and I stopped off here while driving round Donegal, for no other reason than it looked interesting, I'm very glad we did, and in fact we made a point of going out of our way to call in again a day or so later! The food is fantastic, fresh seafood being a speciality of the house. I had... More

My husband and I were on a driving holiday and saw the sign for the cafe and popped in. We are so glad we did. The fresh seafood caught by the proprietor's husband was worth the visit. I had a crab open sandwich and my husband had the lobster open sandwich. They were delicious and economical at nine euros each.... More
