My twin brother Stephen and I jumped the train over the River Mersey and visited some great pubs this side of the river ,we then decided to jump the ferry back to Liverpool but before boarding the ferry we dropped into The River View Pub....This is a very cool looking pub, very traditional, a solid wood serving bar dominates the main room, tv's to enjoy the sport, pubby decor and furnishings including plenty of seating options spread throughout this pub both inside and outside looking out onto and over to the majestic River Mersey, this is were we chose to sit on a roasting hot afternoon. We were greeted with a smile by a very pleasant member of the bar team, we had a study of their real ale's and we both opted to have a pale ale each from Brimstage Brewery, we settled back and took in the beautiful views afforded from the pub while sipping and pale ale's. My pale ale was really good, a crisp, well balanced pale ale, a big hit of hops, hints of toffee, a delicious aroma and aftertaste with a bitter finish, on a hot afternoon a totally refreshing brew indeed. We both really enjoyed our pale ale's in here before we moved on and as on every other visit to The River View Pub we had a very positive experience. The River View Pub is easy to locate along Chester Street. Opening hours are; Monday to Thursday, Midday till 11pm. Friday & Saturday, Midday till Midnight. Sunday, Midday till 11pm. Most definitely well worth checking out if you're in the area.More

The River View on Chester street is without doubt one of the better pubs in Birkenhead that offers a decent beer range and great views of the Mersey river. The River View has a multi-roomed interior with a superb outside seating area which is ideal...when the weather is fine. This is our first visit to the River View this year and nothing has really changed. When we visited here it was fairly quiet and once we ordered our beers we decided to sit outside as it was a roasting hot day and enjoyed our beers which where a couple of Brimstage brewery Trappers Hat.The beers we had were superb and well priced. The River View is a superb pub and is well worth a visit and is easy to find from Hamilton Square bus stop its a short walk.(This is my second review of the River View). Opening Hours. Monday-Thursday-12.00-23.00. Friday-Saturday-12.00-00.00. Sunday-12.00-23.00. Nearest Bus Stop. Hamilton Square bus stop. Nearest Train Station. Hamilton Square Train Station.More

Staff have a bad attitude. They seemed nice at first but showed there true colours. The food was awful, frozen veg and the chicken was under cooked and red in the middle, I'd eaten some by then and ended up with a stomach bug the...next day, all washed down with flat beer that came in a dirty glass. If that wasn't bad enough the toilets were straight out of trainspotting. Awful place. Try Gallergers next door instead.More

My twin brother Stephen and I decided to jump the train across the River Mersey, we jumped off the train at Hamilton Square and the first pub we headed to was The River View Pub, a pub I always enjoy visiting. I love the look...of this pub 😍, the interior is very traditional, light and airy, the main room is dominated by a solid wood serving bar, great decor and furnishings and plenty of seating options spread throughout this pub both inside and outside ,a very nice pub indeed. We were here on a Wednesday afternoon, greeted warmly by a very pleasant member of the staff, we gave our details of name ,phone number or email address to assist with the governments track and trace system and then sanitised our hands, we then ordered a beer each, we chose Carling beer, these were served in excellent condition being iced cold and sparkling and we just kicked back and took in the great pub we were in. My beer was really good, Carling beer although not my usual tipple is a light, hoppy and unpretentious lager style beer bursting taste and very easy to drink, a beer style both myself and my twin brother Stephen are particularly fond of. These are the type of pubs I love to visit, nice staff ,nice beer ,great value for money and a friendly atmosphere. We really enjoyed our beers in here and although our visit was only fleeting as we were pub hopping we had a great time as always. The River View Pub is easy to locate along Chester Road. Opening hours are; Monday to Thursday, Midday till 11pm. Friday & Saturday, Midday till Midnight. Sunday, Midday till 11pm. A great pub, if your in the area most definitely well worth a visit.More

Got off the train at Hamilton Square and had to walk past this pub on a Friday night it was quite busy with a Karaoke in the corner by the door with an experienced woman who was MCing the karaoke. The music was good not...many people singing but the atmosphere was tremendous. I asked the Barmaid for a pint of Carling which was poured to perfection and just sat at the bar watching people the banter was great between the 2 girls behind the bar and the guys at the end of the bar. Very really seen in ale houses these day's. Had a great time in here ended up missing the first gig at the pub up the road but it was like I was watching a reality show in this bar excellent will call back when in the vacinity. Well done to the barmaids it was great fun watching.More
