We stayed at the Peacock for 3 nights, and will definitely stay again. On arrival we were welcomed and asked how our journey was etc, very friendly staff. Our room was modern, clean and warm, very well equipped, with plenty of tea/coffee and biscuits. Breakfast was amazing, plentiful, and very well presented, as was our evening meal. My only fault would... More

Popped in after a long day walking and cycling the local area. We were told only two roast beef dinners left (this was quite late on in the afternoon) which we swiftly ordered. Can't fault the roast dinner - large homemade Yorkshire pudding, loads of veggies and plenty of gravy. The food arrived really quickly. We both ordered a dessert as... More

We enjoyed a lovely traditional pub meal on a quiet thursday evening. The landlord was very pleasant, the food was excellent with good sized portions. The local draught beer was a treat. Very good value for money

When ordering drinks the woman at the bar was very mono tone and not welcoming at all, she was also very gudgemental over myself and friends buying alcohol when we provided ID. She was very rude and not welcoming at all. And has made the overall experience terrible! Working in hospitality you should be polite and respectful no matter what... More

If ever there was a case of 'The pot calling the kettle black' then Abbie W has excelled herself in this instance, because I can assure you TripAdvisor readers no-one at the Peacock was judgemental in the least, and to state Julie, the lady who dealt with the awkwardness of the group, was rude and not welcoming, we all find... Whilst visiting the Peak District we stopped in Bakewell for lunch and based on trip advisor rankings and ratings we decided to try The Peacock for Sunday lunch. It was pretty busy as you would expect for a weekend day but we soon found a table and ordered a beef roast and veggie burger. We were informed that it would... More

I absolutely love the food here. Have been lots of times, have had lots of different dishes and they have always been absolutely perfect. I know that every time I visit the Peacock in Bakewell, I will never be disappointed and I will always leave the pub feeling fulfilled.

My boyfriend and I visited the pub on Tuesday evening and got a cosy little spot in a very small room with only 4 booths. The staff were all really friendly and welcoming. There was a lovely atmosphere with a retro jukebox playing near the bar and the food was beautiful! We both had the steak and ale pie which... More
