Called in with friends after a trip and it was terrible in there. The staff were very unfriendly and didn't want to serve us! The food took to long to come out after waiting over an hour and it was cold. Will not be recommending this pub to anyone or going back myself!!

Went with four friends, two of us had the crab salad which was excellent. One had the scallops cooked well but very sparse with a lump of bread, the fish and chips were very good, however couldn't believe the price of a large wine £6 95 and a pint of cider £4 00 !! Gobsmacked, once bitten twice shy.

I went with my parents, wife and son. Previous reviews are accurate. The food is good but shame mine was let down by the frozen chips; not a negative just a fact.

This rather old fashioned, dusty pub has a great atmosphere, a bit like a French roadside cafe ! The staff are friendly if blunt, and the food is superb. The staff do a lot for local charities, and though I have never been there in the evening I understand it is always busy. We plan to go more often, for... More

As said, proper pub, has atmosphere and conviviality, food good, haven't been in this pub for 20 years, has got better, toilets outside are clean, beer is good, in short a proper pub, don't dress up just tip up and enjoy, best pub for miles, Kernow lad

Excellent meal - we'll definitely be going back again. Potential customers shouldn't be put off by the 'shabby' appearance of the premises. The quality of the food certainly makes a visit worthwhile

Roaring open fire, welcoming staff & landlord, tried to eat there on a Sunday but it was packed but persisted & returned, so glad we did. It was busy on Sunday for good reason. Food & drink was excellent

What a find this was! Old, quaint, noisy (customers mostly local chatting and laughing) and friendly. Big log fire burning, best gin and tonic I've had by far, with local gin, and a really delicious steak baguette. Everyone was friendly, menu was pretty comprehensive and we thoroughly enjoyed it. The other half had a burger which looked really good, he... More
