We spotted the sign for this pub and the name looked interesting. Car park very busy but once inside the friendly staff found us a table in the quieter area. Menu offered the usual type of pub food but it looked a little different to the chains. Our waitress took our drinks order and then came back for the mains.... More

Called here earlier this year whilst staying in the area, lovely pub with very pleasant staff menu looked good although on this visit we did not have enough time to indulge! Will call again when we are in the area again & sample the food.

Great country pub, nipped in for lunch and a couple of pints, it was quite busy but we got served really quickly. Great food and more importantly (to me) great beer!! A must visit. Great name too!!

We stopped here for a bite to eat on Saturday Lunch time - we got in early! The staff were very friendly and gave us a warm welcome, we didn't have a table booked however there were about five free and not reserved, having made our choice our drinks were delivered and menu options given. Friendly staff, good food at reasonable prices. We did have a problem with one of our meals but it was rectified pleasantly and without any hassle

Called on the way to see the garland at Cotehele. Although there was a large group already there and the landlord explained there would be a wait,we decided to stay and have a drink meanwhile. Our excellent meals came out far sooner than the landlord predicted. The staff were welcoming, the food perfectly cooked, the Christmas decorations tastefully done and... More

Lovely country pub. Soup of the day was hot and really tasty. Beer was perfect temperature and nice selection of wines. Real fires were on and nice cosy atmosphere. Will come again

My daughter treated me to Birthday lunch and we enjoyed it very much. They put a candle in my sweet and wished me happy birthday - nice touch ! Really nice pub with good atmosphere.

Very nice old pub, friendly, warm, nice fire and great views, and our Black Labrador was made most welcome in the bar area, food was well presented, home cooked, and great homemade chips, desserts were also good, and nicely priced. Would recommend this pub, bit out of the way, but worth the journey.
