Visited today for a family catch up and was very impressed with the food. There were 13 of us and had a table as requested near the children's play corner despite a last minute booking. There was a large selection on the menu of light lunches, traditional 'pub grub' and a variety of specials, all reasonably priced. I paid for... More

I recall many years ago how pleasant the Ploughboy was to visit for an after work drink, or adhoc evening meal with the partner. On the way home from work this week, I stopped into the Ploughboy for a drink, with a view to meeting my wife there and grabbing an evening meal. I was quite surprised at the price,... More

As a local pub it's fine. I probably made the wrong choice from the menu. For a change I avoided my usual Steak and chips and decided on Spaghetti Bolognese. As Gordon Ramsey would say "Damm". The spaghetti hadn't been drained enough and I had a lot of runny sauce in the bottom of the bowl. The Bolognese sauce lacked... More

I visited the Ploughboy this week for lunch and the first thing that greeted me was the owner/landlord having a row with a couple of customers. If I hadn't been meeting people I might well have left at that point as it was very vocal and quite unsettling. This was followed by a very average meal that, in my opinion... More

Had lunch here. Reasonable food, drink and prices. No issues but no major plus points apart from Dog friendly.

We don't come here often, but it is a nice little place for a family lunch, there is a special place for young kids to play with some ones old toys, which is great to keep them entertained while waiting for your meal.

Went to the ploughboy for lunch. Carvery meat was chewy and dry, plates small and price has increased. Our waitress was young but lovely. Witnessed her being screamed and shouted at by the boss. Disgusting intimidating behaviour, as a parent I felt very uncomfortable that this man felt it was acceptable behaving this way towards a young woman. Would not... More
