We visited this Nautical Style Bistro for Sunday Lunch - Reservations advisable - and were immediately greeted by the friendly young staff and shown to our table.. The Menu is well presented with good choices, The starters included the famous "Boathouse Potted Crab" which was truly wonderful.. as you expect Fish features heavily on the menu and for my main... Went for lunch, food was spectacular, service went above and beyond for us - the lovely lady let us try a small taste of cowder and replaced a white wine with another. View is unique. I will be back here.

We're visiting in the area and were looking for someplace on the water and came across this place. We got a windowside table with a spectacular view of the bay. We ordered a bottle of wine and an antipasto plate to share and one of us got the small calamari and I got the fish sticks. She asked if we... More

Had dinner in the boathouse on Wednesday evening last. It was amazing. I had wonderful fish cakes and my husband had sea bass which were served with the most amazing creamed potatoes ever. The lemon tart was fab. The wine was lovely. The staff were very friendly and excellent. Complement s all the way.

There were 14 of us to dine here during the week. The menu is interesting with a lot of options to have starter or main portions. Genuine struggle to decide. Portions are substantial, so choose with the knowledge that there will be a tasting menu on offer from others' leftovers. More choice of gins than wine but what is there... More

Superb location about five minutes drive out of Kenmare on the Ring of Kerry. The Boathouse is a well-run, cheerful and nautically decorated/furnished restaurant right down on the shoreline. An excellent pint of Guinness is available. The menu is sufficiently varied to cater for most preferences. A selection of speciality breads with butter was swiftly brought to the table after... We went to the Boathouse on a grey wet day but even though we had to sit inside we were able to enjoy the wonderful scenery and the restaurant itself is beautifully appointed. Service was charming and the food quite delicious. I ordered the calamari as a main and got a mountain of them! My husband was delighted with his... More
