Myself, my husband and 2 kids popped into Brennans for a late lunch. Had never been before but had heard good things. Well, I am so glad to have found it - we all loved everything about it. The bar was quiet as it was only 3pm but its SO cosy! Upstairs the restaurant was very impressive, and the food... More

Good food and service. A drink downstairs first is nice. Hopefully this restaurant will continue to provide a nice eating atmosphere well into the future.

Personally, I think this is one of the best places in Ballina to eat. They have an extensive menu with dishes to suit all tastes, including many gluten free options. The service could not be faulted, very friendly and efficient. Our table ordered both fish and meat options and each was a tasty as the other. My bug bear in... More

Everything was perfect. It was not your typical Irish fare. The service was brilliant and the ambience was top notch.

Great atmosphere thanks to staff and decoration. Best fillet steak available in Ballina. Other items from menu good as well. great choice of wine. Professional cheff with great attitude paying attention on customer's needs and expectations - he talks to customers and learns about their impressions and how to improve if any spots. Strongly recommended.

We went for Sunday lunch with our family that included 2 children 3 adults and I can say we were very impressed by the relaxed comfortable restaurant, the children's menu was healthy, the freshly made chicken strips which went down a treat, we both had the fabulous pork belly with veg, full of taste we both commented on one of... Found this through Trip Advisors' top 10 restaurants in Ballina. We came up through the pub and thought it seemed dodgy but the restaurants upstairs is actually very nice. The waitress was very friendly and the food itself was very nice. However, we did wait a long time for it to come to the table and some of the sides... More

Brennan’s Lane is in the heart of Ballina, on the evocatively named Garden Street. From outside it looks quite small, but this is deceiving as it stretches way back and is actually huge. It has an almost Tardis quality in the amount of space inside. Downstairs is the bar, where some pretty serious gigs take place while you will find the restaurant on the first floor. The dining room is beautifully designed and features exposed brick walls, cool sofa seats, plenty of well spaced tables and chairs and some interesting art, as well as a series of old style butchers blackboards showing farm animals and the parts the different cuts of meat come from.  The room is long and fairly narrow, but well thought out design means it feels light and airy, and the open plan kitchen at one end adds to the sense of space. It is modern and elegant, warm and inviting. Description from Taste of Ireland by Paolo Tullio
