Had lunch here with a GAA football squad that was partaking in a bonding session in the nearby Donegal Adventure Centre (also excellent). Lunch was not just top drawer - exactly what we needed, pasta and chicken in a tasty arrabbiata sauce - but we also got an unexpected addition delicious of piping hot homemade vegetable soup which was very... We had a takeaway pizza and chips, kids had pepperoni and we had tricolore, Chips big chunky homemade ones- yum. Pizza very traditional Italian thin base, plenty of topping on ours. I would have loved to have sat in the restaurant beside the blazing fire, with a glass of rose in hand but time was against us. Order taken by... More

Just home from an amazing meal in la sabbia. Probably one of the best dining experiences we have had in years. The restaurant itself is warm and inviting and the food is absolutely beautiful. But what really makes this place is the lovely italian owner, i asked for a glass of red wine preferably merlot and instead of giving me... More

We found the place really cute, and the food was amazing. The staff were so nice and they even gave us a free shot of lemoncello before we left!

We were out for family birthday celebration and all of us really enjoyed our food, staff are so pleasant and friendly. The restaurant is off the main road and I'm sure the location would put some off but it is honestly worth a visit. Flavours in the food and portions were great. Highly recommend.

As other reviewers have said don't be put off with the exterior although I think it could do with a bit of a make over. Its décor inside is rustic. I imagine it would be lovely in winter when the fire is blazing. Great menu, plenty of choice. Our waitress was so nice and helpful. The bread came with lovely... More

Tossed up between two local restaurants and decided on La Sabbia. Took a bit of finding, but well worth it. Not too much to look at from the outside, but don't be put off. Warm and welcoming inside, and genuine Italian food to die for! As a party of eight, we explored the full range of starters and mains, and... More
