We were seated in the back room in front of the stage. We enjoyed delicious root vegetable soup with brown bread; beef stew; and apple crumble for dessert. All were tastefully prepared and were served hot and with a smile! The entertainment was perfect and consisted of a traditional Irish band and were accompanied by Sean nos dancers. Despite it... Beautiful part of the world, we visited during the Dublin Bay Prawn Festival at the week-end, and enjoyed a near perfect fish chowder...excellent Guinness and large Gin & Tonic's. Sat with a lovely couple who were part of the Sunday Club, and had been going to the pub for some 30 years....lucky people..!

Our family of 4 visited the Abbey Tavern for dinner last week. We all had a great time. The atmosphere was lively and the food and service were both very good! We enjoyed the bacon cheeseburger, cajun chicken burger and prawn scampi. We also loved walking around the seaport after dinner looking at all the boats and lights. Very nice... More

Visited Abbey Tavern on St. Patrick's Day 2017. Dinner was fine but typical and very rushed. Moved over to a room for entertainment and I hope this was not their "premier" show. Perhaps there musicians got a better gig somewhere else for St. Patrick's Day, but it was somewhat embarrassing as the guitar player was very sub-par to begin and... More

We visited this pub on a March Sunday afternoon and it was very busy. Unfortunately we did not have time to eat though the food looked. We sat at the bar and enjoyed a lovely chilled glass of wine and a perfectly poured pint of Guinness. Staff attentive. Great atmosphere. We hope to be back.

I recently attended a family birthday party at the Abbey Tavern. From the moment we arrived the service was great. The staff assists in helping us unload the car, taking out a pram, baby bag and a 4 week old baby. The service at the party was exceptional, food was excellent. I will be having future family functions at the... More
