We had a lovely visit quite by chance after walking round Rudyard Lake. Our car broke down on the car park and the staff and clients were really helpful until RAC man arrived to save the day ! Good veggie options . Friends had Veg chilli and meat chilli , I had Sunday lunch without meat ( creamed Leeks were... More

Stopped for lunch as we were passing. Friendly welcome from the bar staff, I had the pie of the day - lamb and mint, and hubby had the hotspot. Both were delicious!

Thank you to Julie, Paul and all the staff at the Royal Oak, you entertained so well, being the perfect hosts. The food was first class and everyone in our party of 18 thought so too.The children recommend the puddings!. Exceptional service and would definantley recommend to others.

Gorgeous food, great selection of drinks, brilliant friendly service! They offer different theme nights - curry night/pie nights - which are both lovely with plenty of choice - ive visited on most of them. They also hold a monthly quiz night which brings the village together. Definitely worth a visit! The best pub in Rushton!!!

After visiting for my birthday lunch, I left after 3 courses stuffed! Brilliant food, wine and staff... Lots of choice on the menu, recommended a wine and my 6 month old daughter was welcomed. Would definitely go back!

Passed by so many times, but this has at last been corrected. The staff were all very pleasant & welcoming, & the menu was varied & very reasonably priced - a lot of the food was home made, & it was very nice, so a good all round result, really, & I would happily recommend to others.

We stopped here a few weeks ago for lunch on the way to Manchester airport. We were the only people in at the time. The food was delicious and home made and the chips were wonderful. Real proper potato chips (not oven chips or fries) everywhere was very clean and welcoming. I'm sure with more people in it has more... More

Stuck in a previous email afraid. I think this pub is a community project and it shows. Average food, frequently out of stock and pretty benign service. Sorry but not impressed.

Hi James I find this rather strange, food frequently out of stock, you must have visited more than once, if that is the case, then you must have been satisfied previously... However the pub is owned by the community, from whom I lease the building and run the pub. I find it difficult to believe that you think we are... More

We visited The Royal Oak with a group of friends for a meal and drinks. The staff could not do enough for us and, despite being busy, our food arrived without much of a wait. It was fresh and hot. Nothing could be faulted and there was a lovely atmosphere.

A spontaneous visit. Looks beautiful from outside and wants to welcome you in. The real welcome inside from the staff was warm and the interior very cosy. The menu was varied and the beers were tasty. We ordered three different meals and each of them were gorgeous!!! We'll come back soon! Definitely
