Stayed recently for 2 nights and have mixed views on the place, so depending on what you are wanting in a room, it may or may not help you. Our room could sleep 5 people - double, single & bunk bed. Decoration is quaint and slightly tired looking, however room did come stocked with ample toiletries and extras including soft... More

As we were staying in Falstone we called into the Black Cock for dinner - I was pleasantly surprised to see vegetarian and vegan options available. The meat eater aka the husband had the special of beef goulash and cleared his plate, I had the Mediterranean risotto and it was gorgeous, We had a couple of pints, a bottle of... More

Called in to this pub for a meal. The landlord was very friendly, however we didn't stop for a meal as the smell of cats was so bad it was hard enough having one drink in here. It's such a shame as we were really looking forward to food. It is very dog friendly with even a dog menu and... More

I have just returned from a weekend away with one of the stops being a night spent at the Black Cock Inn. The party consisting of myself, my partner and my parents all had a wonderful time and we couldn't fault a thing, we were made to feel welcome from the moment we arrived by both the host and the... Waited three days in anticipation and were disappointed with the welcome, ambiance and cleanliness. Food was ok, but we were so disappointed as we had been told that the pub was a delight.

After walking around Kielder during the day this was a welcomed break. Great choice on the menu, friendly service from the owner, but on his own so pleased there wasn't a big crowd in. Overall recommended, not cheap but good quality food.

We were a funeral party (obvious as we were all in black) going to a funeral 5 mins away from this inn. Our small coach pulled in to the car park so that members of the party could refresh and gave a coffee or beer. Alighting, we were shouted at by a lady saying that this was a private car... More

Called here prior to visiting the nearby observatory. Friendly staff and a decent menu. A nice contrast to the plastic restaurants surrounding Kielder reservoir.
