I came across the shoemakers arms at Sennybridge whilst out for a day of walking up Penyfan. Someone told me turn off A470 where Signed Defynnog and the road led to the Shoemakers Arms. Now retired Landlady Gwyneth and landlord Salvatore where fab hosts making us delicious food and accommodating my 2 golden retrievers also. I will visit again and... More

A little off the beaten track, but a delight, a quirky charming pub, that you will want to come back to again and again. Good choice of beer, food is above average and you will go away having enjoyed a great welcome.

This quiet, cosy village pub is well worth a detour if you are in the Sennybridge area. It is friendly, welcoming and a good place to relax. There is a reasonable selection of beer (including one real ale when we were there) and a good menu of tasty, home cooked food. A real taste of Wales.

I was there with a big group of friends recently - had the steak, the food was incredible, and the service was also outstanding. They were very accommodating of a very large group of us! 100% recommended to visit here if you're in the area.

We had a delicious dinner here last week while on a group holiday. The owners and staff were very friendly and accommodating, despite the size of our group and us adding lots of extra desserts at the end. They also had Sourz available, and provided us with this on request among coffees and Baileys. All in all, a great visit.

So sad the current owners are retiring in a weeks time. We were made to feel really welcome, the food was lovely. I had a nut roast wellington which was really tasty. My friends had battered cod, with a rosemary batter - really light. And one had chicken and said was the best chicken he had ever had. We all... More

We visited here on the recommendation of the visitors book in our holiday cottage and we were so glad we did. We were made welcome from the first. We were the only people in the pub to start with and the owners spent a while chatting with us. Then we chose our food which was all cooked fresh so we... More

We really appreciate you taking the time to write such a lovely review. We try hard to make this pub feel like the sort of place we would like to visit. A pub should be far more than a "pint". We hope you enjoyed the rest of your holiday. More

Thank-you for writing such a nice review-it means a lot to us. You are right, there are very few pubs like ours left and they must be kept open-more diners needed! More
