There were eleven of us (pre-booked) for lunch a few days before Christmas. We were given a warm welcome, served quickly with excellent food at very good prices. Really nice friendly place. I'd recommend it and would go again if I was in the area

Visited with a group of friends and had the 2 course meal with roast dinner for around £10. Staff were really friendly and food was prompt on the table. Unfortunately bread for the prawn cocktail was stale and the roast dinner was terrible- soggy veg, and potatoes tasted like they had been reheated etc. Not the greatest meal, but a... More

Went in after a long walk to slake acthirst and to have a snack. Lovely setting, really old and traditional pub in a lovely village setting. Not too wide a choice of beers, so CAMRA not involved but the setting and ambiance made up for the paucity of choice. Judging by the reaction of other diners the menu and food... More

Lovely location and building. BUT thats the first impression when you arrive and its all downhill from there on. We ordered the food with one diner specifing that he wanted no potatoes of any kind but would have salad and veg. It arrived with a large chips!!! This was after quite a long wait although on this occasion we were... More

We came here for a roast lunch. The veg was hard, the meat was chewy and the roast potatoes were pre bought frozen rubbish. Would never eat here again. Very disappointed.

Dessert menu also good range of dishes. Note, be very hungry if going for cheese board, good range of cheeses with a healthy serving of biscuits, could easily... More

We visited The Bell mid afternoon on a Sunday and were pleased to find them serving food all day, which in late October is really good. Very busy and full of atmosphere. Three course Sunday lunch was very reasonably priced and delicious. Good no frills food, served quickly and with a smile. We had a great time and would definitely... More

Dropped in after a 5 mile circular walk with our dogs (pub is dog friendly), good beer and very good atmosphere with friendly staff and customers. Stopped off on our way back from a later day out because they had a quiz night. They put on a truly terrific buffet that we enjoyed while lamenting how much we have forgotten... More
