We had our much awaited visit to Mugaritz recently. This is no normal dining experience. It is therefore quite strange in my opinion to read reviews about the experiential nature of the dishes served when in fact, that is exactly what is is famous for. You don't visit a place like this expecting to walk out with your belt loosened... More

This was a truly extraordinary experience. I have never had such amazing food and all of the staff seem to love working here. If I was never to eat another meal I would die happy!!

We had thoroughly enjoyed our first dining experience here many years ago, and since then, had very much looked forward to returning. So with great expectations, we arrived on time for lunch. As each course was served, we were astonished at how the food quality and service had changed. One course after another made little positive impact to our tastebuds,... More

To put this review in context: I've eaten at many 3*, 2* and 1* restaurants in UK & Europe. I'll eat pretty much anything, I love creativity and experimental dishes, I have no issues eating with my hands (or without!) if the chef thinks it's part of the experience. However, whatever the quirk, the food still has to taste good... More

What a disappointment after spending the night before at Martin Berasategui ! The food is experimental, inconsistent and sometimes downright disgusting: Rabbit brain served on the head of the rabbit head, chicken cartillage on a toast, sea cucumber, ... .not our cup of tea when going to a Michelin starred restaurant. Half of the dishes went back to the kitchen... More

I am very used to go to good restaurants; this one is a fraud. The 28 tasting menu is a series of deceptions with some truly terrible dishes like chicken cartilage toast that everyone in the table had spit out. It is unbelievable that they have Michelin stars!! The region has other starred restaurants, fantastic options. Many tables complained and... More

One more star to my belt here. Had a great long lunch the first day they open the season. Food was amazing and the Chef took us to the kitchen tour. HE was very happy we were from Puerto Rico.

A once in a lifetime experience. The 28 course menu is unique and it includes all the possible flavors, textures and temperatures. Most of the dishes are delicious and others are just OK. A couple of them are less than acceptable. If you are willing to spend $300+ Per person, come here. Service is unparalleled.

Worst michelin meal Ive ever had in my life. So bad that I have to post my first ever review on tripadvisor. Everything is all too pretentious. Tasteless. Inedible. Bad service. Not worth the money. Go to Asador etxebarri or Arzak and avoid this place at all cost. The best bit was the wine.

Lovely setting with large tables and a relaxed and unhurried staff. The courses kept coming with ingenious use of local products and wine pairings that were perfect. A visit to the kitchen revealed 40 chefs cooking and plating all the myriad of courses. Just fascinating. Thankfully the plating's were small and mainly creative with some stellar standouts. Don't understand the... More
