I would give more stars but as I only stopped off for a well deserved ale after a couple hours of pretending I was Spider-Man in the caves to the rear 4 stars will have to do! Nice little inn and lovely welcoming landlord/staff. Ideal for single people, couples, groups and families aswell as the dog. They seem to have... More

We had an excellent meal here and the local beer was very good. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. A coal fire helped make the atmosphere very cosy too.

A very welcome find after a cold, snowy walk. Often pubs don't offer sandwiches on Sundays but we were able to have a very tasty sandwich with side salad and chips and a very nice pint of real ale. The open fires were much appreciated and the staff were friendly. A proper pub with plenty of parking.

Second time we have visited here and we love it. Arrived at 12 and found a table with no problem next to a roaring fire. The staff were very attentive to help. I have the mushrooms on toast to start which was hot, garlicky and gorgeous. I had the chicken and ham with blue cheese. Bit of a shame that... More

Found this place whilst driving round the Derbyshire countryside near Rowsley after visiting Haddon Hall. A fabulous olde world pub , although catering mainly for walkers and locals it offers a varied and interesting menu and a really friendly welcome. It was a cold Februaury day but a lovely open fire greeted us and a handful of walkers ,some with... More

A group of 16 of us called in for lunch midway through a walk. The beer was good, the food very good but at the top end in terms of price, service good but a bit slow. We were a big group but they were expecting us and we didn't insist on sitting together. Worth a call again. Dog and... More

Its been a while since I last went in "The Druids" so decided to give it a go on Sat 21st Jan. As an aside, don't get caught out by the fact it doesn't do food Sun eve and is closed Monday (even on Banks Holidays). Staff friendly enough. Place does seem to need a bit of TLC in the... More

I attended here today to have a nice quiet drink with a friend only to see the landlord be subjected to abuse and assault by a rude abnoxious walker!!! The Walker demanded his money back for his pint after being told by the landlord that he could not eat his sandwiches on the premises (this is also clearly stated on... More

Our favourite pub in the area, very friendly, award-winning beer, proper old fires and furnishings, just what you want. Great food too.

Visit with friends to the local CAMRA pub of the year- beers were very good and staff very helpful. We didn't eat there but will next time! Good local pub.
