My husband and I came here for a late breakfast one Sunday morning and we were so glad we'd booked. It got busy really quick. And I can understand why. The service was good and the food yummy! Will be back!!

What a simple yet difficult thing it is to find a good breakfast. Sometimes the coffee is substandard, the bacon over or underdone, the sausages tasteless, the toast cold or the service poor. It may be a relatively simple start-of-the-day equation but more often than not it disappoints. The hothouse cafe gets it just right. It delights in its location,... More

At the back of The Medicine Garden so very popular and busy...but great food and does serve wine..Used to be quite reasonable but prices have risen lately as it's become more liked I suppose...always pleasant and so many nice shops and art shops to see and gifts to buy so it can be a nice afternoon out...!!!

Lovely location, great for all ages. The Hothouse Cafe is an idilic location, beautiful walled garden and cosy warm place to lunch. The children's menu was really good, our daughter loved the food and the choice. The adult menu looks equally as impressive, although the food isn't served hot enough. The panini and tart were cool and should have been... More

The cafe occupies an old Victorian hothouse in the middle of a courtyard of artisan small shops and which is a lovely place to visit. It is however, acoustically, extremely noisy - so noisy in fact that we moved to an area where we could just about hear each other. The noise bounces off the wooden table tops, ricochets off... Enjoyed the bonus sun in Autumn to sit outside and enjoy a quiet lunch. Had a very fresh salad and good coffee , service efficient and friendly. It's possibly a bit on the expensive side and the menu is small but I guess by keeping it simple they keep it so fresh .

What a really lovely location, matched by the food and the service. We turned up to surprise my mother in law for her 80th birthday. The staff were unaware of this, but quickly got involved and helped us spring the surprise. The food was great and the service exceptional. I will be returning for lunch next time.

Delicious nutritious food, beautifully presented, served with a smile. Very reasonably priced, lovely desserts. In an interesting community within wonderful walled garden. Congratulations to everyone concerned with café and the Medicine Garden as a whole.

Super staff and a lovely setting! Great to have seating inside and outside. Perfect setting to have a wander around independent galleries and a nursery for a plant or two!

I have been to the Hothouse Cafe several times for lunch and breakfast. The food is of a good standard however they do tend to drown the salads in a strong balsamic dressing which can be overpowering. It would be better to serve it on the side with a choice of olive oil and vinegar so people could make their... More
