I visited for the first time, and was greeted by a very uninterested lady, who instantly made me want ro leave. However i was hungry so stayed. The food fortunately was lovely. The staff however really let it down abd for that reason wouldnt return....They dont even have a high chair in a family pub… ridiculousMore

We visited on a quiet Tuesday evening in September. We had reserved a table by phone earlier in the day, asking for a quiet table. We were told that it would probably be a quiet evening anyway. We were welcomed to our table and enjoyed...the wall photos of British Racing Car Champions since the 1950's. It seems the owner's brother is one of them. To drink, we chose glasses of Rioja, which were delicious. To eat, I selected albondigas meatballs to start, half rack of ribs with coleslaw, and in an effort to eat healthier, swapped the fries for a salad. My companion started with curried cauliflower soup followed by two starter portions of croquetas and figs stuffed with goats cheese. The preparation, presentation and flavours were sublime. The staff couldn't have been more friendly and helpful and I succumbed to the temptation of a fruit crumble dessert served with ice cream. Everything was perfect. A real model of how to do brilliant hospitality, food and drinks. We'll definitely be back!More

We were very lucky to stumble across this place as we were refused entry to another pub down the road due to staff shortages. The staff were very welcoming and took good care of us. The food food was delicious and of a very high...standard. Sitting outside in the garden there is a lot to see be it Buddha statues or beautiful plants. Yummy food and lovely service that made you feel looked after. If you are in the area looking for a place to eat definitely come here!More

We met friends for dinner, having not been here before but location was good for us and website and menu looked good. Very busy, lively vibe. Young waiting staff very pleasant but all seemed a little nervous and had no knowledge of the menu or...even the drinks menu. No idea what cider they had or if they had a low sugar lemonade, seemed a difficult question. They may have been new which is fine, we all start somewhere. Our food order was taken by a more “senior” waitress without a smile (at any point in the evening) who informed us the other staff are not qualified to take food orders and she would make sure we got what we asked for. Her manner was so off that this sounded more like a threat! We were also an inconvenience to her as we were chatting so much we had to keep asking for more time to order as we hadn’t chosen yet, asking “is it ANOTHER 5 minutes!” and by the time we got to dessert the young waitress was flummoxed by us asking if they do custard! They don’t, even though it is on their website, but again this was a difficult question. As the evening progressed we enjoyed the food, and found the bizarre service quite entertaining. Old fashioned hand written bill gave total for food and one for drinks, no breakdown so no way to check it is correct. Even that seemed to have attitude. Very funny evening which will be quite a talking point with friends but won’t be returning!! Shame as food and venue are great.More

Came here whilst on the Oxshott Painshill walk. Seated as a party of five and made to feel welcome. We all ordered different dishes but all came at the same time and all of really good quality. Dessert was the fruit crumble which was not...too sweet or sour. Portion sizes were generous too.More

Not being familiar with Cobham restaurants we picked this for the parking and the reviews. What a delightful family pub/restaurant. Lovely friendly greeting when we came in from the carpark with attractive planting. The menu was very wide and appealled to all tastes. The portions...were a good size of well-cooked, tasty quality food. Excellent chef! The service was very friendly with every effott made to help us to the table of our choice Very very reasonably priced for what we had. Can't recommend highly enough. It will certainly be our choice when we visit Cobham again.More

Went here with friends for a Sunday Lunch. We asked for an outside table and were told we would be sitting in the Lobster Pot (I think). the weather forecast was pretty bad and we didnt know what to expect as we hadnt been here...before. The pub is what I would call an old fashioned traditional pub, I was impressed when we arrived. Nice greeting from the guys behind the bar and we were shown to our table. Very easy to order our food and drinks. Our friends daughter wasnt feeling that well but the staff were very accomodating in finding her something that she wanted to eat, even though it wasnt on the menu. The food arrived and it was all exclent, none of us could fault it. The part of teh afternoon that really impressed us all was the excelent service. It started raining and then thundering and lightning. The staff were drenched coming from the pub to the outdooor area but not one of them moaned and took it in their stride. I would have given a 5 but the are atht let the place down was teh cleanliness of the toilets, it wasnt just me as my wife said the ladies werent that great. there was no soap in the gents and there was quite an unpleasant smell. Other than that this was great afternoon out and we will returnMore

One of the few pubs that retains a pub like atmosphere, and serves very good fresh food. If you don’t want to be in a pub, the outside tables are also very good. Roasts, beef, chicken, lamb, pork (or mixed!) all very good, and served...hot with plenty of fresh veg. All the food is prepared and cooked on site. Service excellent, particularly the young girl whose first day it was on Sunday. Drinks good variety and well priced - as was the food. Roughly a quarter of the price of newcomer Grapelli in Cobham, and food and service both more enjoyable at the Runner.More

Met family at this nice pub in Cobham. Food was great and a reasonable choice of beers. The staff were really excellent especially Elise. Recommended.

There definitely was seating outside and I'm sure they could seat 6 but I'm not sure whether or not there is any heating. Maybe a look at their website might help.
