Authentic & excellent
The fiorentina steak was very well prepared. Quality meat served on a hot plate.
The service was very enthusiastic. Really trying their best to give us a very great evening. You can see that the owner loves his products and you can...feel his passion for what he does.
Also very nice red wine suggestion. Amazing with the steak.
We will come again!More
We booked this restaurant based on reviews here and also because our accommodation hosts recommended it also. Small, local authentic family restaurant in a very small non-touristy Italian town around 30mins from Como. The menu is in Italian but the waiters were great and explained...all in English giving us recommendations. Also honestly telling us when we were ordering too much. Rightly so, as were well and truly stuffed with the 4 dishes we ordered. It was a lovely evening. The only thing I would question was the prices, the price of the menu was super expensive for a small family run trattoria/osteria. Same, if not more expensive than some of the places in Como and other tourist towns. I expect to pay for good food, but felt that it was a little overpriced. Perhaps as so popular these days. Other than that, a perfect evening.More
Based on reading comments here, we made a booking. Call back was quickly after we hung up as it was busy. Our number was a foreign number, so it was good impression to start with. I like its setting a lot, which has a lot...of items in harmony and it feels Italian. The service was very friendly and the whole evening was filled with jokes and laughter. I had Parma ham to start with and the bread went with it was hollow inside so it was a great base to present the delicious ham yet not heavy with flour to fill you up. And my tagliatelle was divine with mushroom and truffle sauce.More
Located in the back streets of Asso, this is a locals restaurant. No English menu, but the most friendly waiter who explains everything. Been to Venice, Pisa, Verona, Umbria, Tuscany... this was the best. Food, service and friendliness just as it should be. If you...are within 20km then drive to visit.... highly recommended !More
From the moment you enter this restaurant it is a delight! The atmosphere and service is second to none and the waiters make you feel like you’re a family friend.
The menu is in Italian but it is translated for you. I’m not sure exactly...what the names of the dishes were but they were all excellent to the point you eat so slowly and savour every mouthful because you don’t want it to end!
We had a beef tartare, meat with fried breads to start, lamb spaghetti and prawn, porcini and truffle tagliatelle and then fruit tart and lemon gelato.
We were upset that we only found this restaurant on our last night around Como, we would happily have eaten there every night!
You do need to book though, they are obviously very popular, and rightly so.More
We've been in Lake Como for a week nearly and have been fairly disappointed with the food. It's been very low to average catering for mass tourism which couldn't care if you returned because the next day brings a whole new load of tourists.
That...is, until now!!!
What a treasure of a place.
From the outside in a quiet residential Italian town it's unassuming. Inside, you feel as though you're in an Italian's home. Quirky decor which adds to the ambience and sets a relaxed tone.
The menu was described in full by our waiter which was great. The waiters know everything about their produce and tell you about it when reading through the menu. It's clear to see they are passionate about food.
While waiting we were poured a complimentary drink of Lambreto.
Ordered a Ragu Blanco for starters and shared. Really delicious ...
Grilled fillet and a fillet with mushrooms and cheese - delicious and cooked to perfection
Green salad which was not on the menu but was not a problem to make and also accompanied with potatoes.
We shared a dessert which was outstandingly good. It was a creme brûlée but made with yoghurt, so was light and refreshing with summer berries on top.
We were given an expresso which was accompanied by liquorice.
The food here is really good but it's the service which really just makes the whole experience outstanding.
Nothing was too much trouble.
It's so good we just booked for tonight as well.
If you're sick of the service in the tourist trap of Bellagio, make the trip here. You won't be disappointed.More

My husband & I dined here for our 1st wedding anniversary after finding other reviews on Trip Advisor. We were staying in Nesso, so it was a good 45 minute drive, but was worth it. The drive took us in land, where we were able...to enjoy other scenery other than the lake.
When we arrived we didn't know what to expect from the outside view, which is more or less a door in the side of a wall, however, inside was lovely. It had it's own style, which was a little of everything, & worked on every level. The owner, who was also the chef came to us & helped to translate the menu, we speak little Italian. My husband is a veggie, & he was able to tell us about the meat free dishes.
Both our meals were amazing. My husband having cheese to start & homemade fresh pasta with red wine sauce, I had duck to start & steak with a stilton sauce. All the food was amazing, it was fresh, homemade where it could be & delicious. We opted for a white wine, which again was very good.
Over all, it was a fabulous experience, wonderful food, with great personal service. The atmosphere was romantic, cosy, & personal. We couldn't recommend this restaurant enough, & encourage a visit during your stay around Lake Como.More
