I took the very short (30 minutes) train trip from Rome to Frascati just to get out of a deserted Rome. Frascati is worth a visit if you have extra time in Rome to see the Papal Villas and the great views from atop the hill. But, enough about Frascati.... Il Grottino was open on an August Saturday and offered... More

We met friends here, it has a nice view in a social setting. Our food was full of flavour and presented well. There are many varied dishes to enjoy!

A day trip to Frascati from Rome is highly recommended, for clearer air and fresher temperatures in the summer. There are plenty of places to eat but on a sleepy Sunday in June me, several were closed. I came across Il Grottino in a row of about 3 restaurants all overlooking the gorgeous view from Via Regina Margarita and chose... More

My husband and I booked a "Green Line Tour" to Castelli Romani. I did not expect to stop off to eat, but I was pleasantly surprised when we did. The staff provided more than enough appetizers, entrées, and bottles of white wine. This restaurant has a wonderful view of the local area, and it is located at the end of... More

A very nice restaurant on a street overlooking the fantastic volcanic Lago Albano. Between the four of us we had two different main courses. Mine was supposed to be an entree but they graciously filled it up to make it enough for a main course of a hot summer lunch.

The main waiter (blue eyes & gruff voice) decided he had no drink menu & told us we couldnt have red wine either so we went with frascati but it wasnt frascati when it arrived. He 'told' us we should have a platter starter so we agreed but it didnt turn up & the staff ignored us when we tried... More

I was here with a friend of mine Seating outside, overlooking Rome. Spectacular view! I had a great steak with grilled vegetables, my friend a daily soup and some other nice dishes from the daily menu. Everything was tasting very good. We had a nice bottle of wine. Service friendly. Even if the place was quite busy the owner has... More

Near lake Albano, friendly place, nice food. I had fresh fish which was very nice, salad wine and toasted bread. My friends liked their plates and I recommend this place.

Only stayed for a few days in Frascati but loved this restaurant on the first night so we went back for more. Good food and fun loving friendly people who made sure everything was perfect. Thin crust pizza's are brilliant and the marinade lamb just fell of the bone - delicious. A choice of seating in the downstairs cellar with... More

We always stop in Frascati for lunch when we fly into Rome. We found Il Grottino after riding around for a while and chose it because of the atmosphere and the view! Great choice! The view from their terrace was fantastic! The food was equally as good. The service was great and the owner was happy to share some of... More
