A lovely summer evening, a beautiful location and a restaurant with excellent food! Delicious dinner, traditional food with a twist! Clean place, lovely tables and good and kind service. We couldn't be more satisfied! We'll be back!

The service is excellent, the menu includes food that can surprise you, and, last but not least, the wine! No big labels or names but the quality is super: just follow the suggestion and you won't regret!

We drove from Stockholm to Lecce, Forli, Lignano and finally Berlin. Of all the places we ate, this tiny inconspicuous off the main road restaurant served the best food. The owner, in his poor English tried his best to translate the menu. The food burst with flavours and texture and a feast for the eyes. This is a definite must... More

The place is nice and the staff friendly. The food pretends to be top level but in reality one of our dishes was kind of too spicy (stracotto) and one too salty. The wine was fine. A kind of overrated restaurant. Friends from the area confirmed us this point.

Even trying the home menu, made of typical local dishes, reviewed with some modifications, the taste of the food was unexpectedly faint, except for the stracotto (beef stew) where cloves flavour dominated everything. The price is not low for such an unsatisfying cooking. The staff is kind, but the service is slow.

Excellent restaurant where recipes from the vast and opulent tradition of the Romagna Region are creatively proposed at reasonable price. I have been there recently for no less than three times in a week so we had the chance to sample several items from the menu, which while definitely not outstanding in terms of offers, allows for a reasonable variety... Everything was right. The red wine was a Barbaresco, a genre hitherto unknown to me. It was delicious as was the Trippa alla Romagna - all regions of North and Central Italy have their own way with ox tripe. Service was welcoming and friendly.

Coming over year in a foggy evening of winter is definitely preparing you fro the nice experience I had. I had very nice food with single glass of wine selected by the younger apprentice having passion for wines of the territory, is asking where I am coming from and he makes sure I taste different local one I have never... Very limited menù. Quality of food not high. Despite The appearance of the restaurant, that raises expectations, the overall level is disappointing . The choice is simply too limited. Quantity of food that was served to us was insufficient. The best I could get was some salami and cheese and a small tagliata di manzo.

Description
Located in the heart of Forli close to the theatre and San Domenico Museums, DON ABBONDIO OSTERIA is a centenarian institution where theatre workers and actors used to have a meal at late night.

Today the tavern belongs to the young host Simone, who is a sommelier and has a very particular passion on cheese too. The family took great care over the previous tavern style, but in a modern and stylish way.

So that youʼll find paper placemats on the table, some of the traditional recipes on the list belonged to the inn history, such as “stracotto beef”, fried frogs, meatballs and tripe, but also a great selection of wine and contemporary paintings on the walls, made by the artist Enrico Lombardi.

And for true lovers, a little cameo: a candle-lit dinner in the only one table under the roof.
