The customer service at this place is about what a person would expect at a poorly managed fast food restaurant. I don't ask for perfection and am always happy to extend a little grace -- especially if the team cares and is trying. They didn't seem to be trying and don't care. They sat us. They host was nice enough,... More

Stayed in the hotel and rose to a very good selection of Norwegian foods for breakfast. The staff was very attentive to table needs. There was always plenty of items as the guests worked over the selections.

The a la carte menu was limited probably because they provide ingredients from the local produce including fish, which would typically be the catch of the day. We went for Main and Dessert and both were delicious. Though I must say the price was high (which is a common theme in Norway anyway) and the vegetarian option in Starter and... More

There is a lovely reception/bar area with glass walls which gives superb views of Flam and that is the highlight of the hotel. Main areas have been renovated but rooms are a bit old fashioned and drab. Heating did not work in our rooms so we were provided with extra blankets.

The sit down dinner is over priced at NOK 400+ with just the basic option for vegetarians. True to its name, the hotel is really historic as the staff is from the 18th century and need grooming and training in hospitality. An avoidable place.

Our dinner was fabulous. We were a group of 34 so it was selected for us. We had fabulous breads, pork loins, great vegetables. THe breakfast buffet was great. The coffee was good! The breads were plentiful, great selection of foods from eggs to fish!

We were surprised to find that there was a fixed menu ... 2 two starters, neither of which we wanted, and three entrees, one of which was good. There were three of us, and we tried all three. Only liked the beef. Dessert was good. Our waiter, fresh from Barcelona, was really nice - but the rest of the staff... More

Lovely venue on the 1st floor of this stunning architectural building. The glass wall allows a view over the fjord and mountain ranges.l The restaurant offers a fixed price 3 course meal for dinner or 3 Main course choices. We chose the fish and pork main courses as that was enough for us. Different vegetables were presented with each dish... More

Dinner was very, very, very delicious. Breakfast was very good, but somewhat slightly underwhelming after such a stunning meal the night before.

I love the architecture of the hotel, the old and the new blended well together. The staff are super friendly and helpful. The rooms are really comfortable! The glass tower is stunning to for star gazing.
