We were attracted by a set menu advertised outside. The meal was good value and local wine a reasonable price. Our choice of salad came after a dish of olives and some bread with individual portions of cheese spread and probably pate. The cod fish with vegetables and potatoes filling , and the chocolate mousse followed by coffee completed the... More

Friendly environment, food and service were bellow average in terms of quality. We order beef rare-medium and it was overcooked, food seemed to be a bit beyond the the expiration time, that is was not fresh... The restaurant was clearly understaffed, but were friendly... I would not.come back for the lack of quality-price relationship

The food is simple and correct. Unfortunately the restaurant has covered the walls with the most horrible tiles. Can try to sit outside.

À real touristtrap. We had troute and bacalhau , both of them the worst we have had in Portugal during two weeks. Usually you eat very good here. The soups tasted like dishwater! The man who served us must have had his first day as waiter , hopefully it was his last too. The fruit salad as desert , that... More

we asked in a cafe for a good traditional restaurant and have been recommended to A Floresta. Good idea to follow the advice. Excellent traditional dishes, good service. We enjoyed sea food, fine wine and some small talk to our French neighbours. Nice evening.

All hotels and restaurants in Portugal are required by law to provide an official complaint book (Livro de Reclamações). It was the first time ever that we had to use this and we can but recommend that you do likewise, if you're (reasonably) not satisfied. From the outside the restaurant looks quite nice and the menu printed in 5 different... More

When you enter the restaurant you feel this is going to be a culinary celebration. Just when you sit they bring you bread, small glass of wine, butter and olives. I thought that this is a welcome gesture (which I know it is eventually covered in the cost of the main dish), but it was charged separately in the bill... More

Ww came here without having checked any reviews, eager to try the cabrito (baby goat) which is in season and a speciality of the area. It was way below local standards, which was a bit disappointing considering the ranking of the place (which I've checked since) and the general swagger of the place. It is authentic enough but the feeling... More

We found this wandering around Guarda in the afternoon and returned for dinner in the evening. It is a typical Portuguese restaurant, serving typical Portuguese food. My wife and I both had soup to start as it was a cold evening, then I had the goat and my wife the dourda from the prato do dia menu. We both had... More

It's clean and tidy and the food is of a satisfactory standard. It's cheap and cheerful. Unfortunately it was 15 minutes from the first main course being served to the last person getting theirs - there were not 5 of us!
