My friend had heard a good report about The Richmond Arms and on the strength of this we booked a table for three for lunch. It was cramped, noisy and the service was very slow indeed. The food was good although small portions. As a veggie/vegan there was very limited choice but what I got tasted OK, but I wouldn't... More

Service excellent, choice of food good, food very tasty. Had the fab quail and the brisket, which was a lot of meat, too much for me but probably not for everyone. Divided into formalish and relaxed eating, I will be going back to try the woodfore pizzas :-) !!!

Food was great, the service was great, the location was great - really enjoyed my first trip to the Richmond Arms. As a vegetarian my heart generally sinks at the idea of tofu but the main course gave a whole new meaning to tofu. And the dessert was truly amazing, too - a dulche de leche brulee, with banana ice... More

Great to see Woodcock & Snipe on the menu. Snipe came traditionally prepared as a starter and was very good. Starters of Brussel Sprouts with black pudding and quail in a molasses sauce were also enjoyed. Main course steaks were spot on in terms of meeting the required doneness and the pork fillet with sweet potato was liked. As usual... More

The atmosphere is always good here, the service is right on the ball and the food produced by Jack and his team in the kitchen is just so amazing. He conjures up the most wonderful dishes with a fantastic array of flavours . My mouth water's just at the mention of the Richmond Arms.

So firstly the breakfast is excellent. Not sure why the sausage and bacon tastes so good it just does. Fresh fruit and museli makes you feel you have done the groundwork for what follows. We stayed over and our room was great. Beds very comfortable and rooms warm. We ate in the restaurant on the Saturday and both had the... More

I am originally from Funtington which is a village next to West Ashling and wanted to come down and take my mum out to lunch. We normally go into Chichester but that seems to be full of the usual chains so thought we would try something local. I have to say we were so impressed, as soon as you walk... More

Visited this lovely rustic restaurant,in a tiny village location in what used to be a village pub. It was my mother's 94th birthday and 8 of us were keen to celebrate the milestone. We had a wheelchair and it was no problem. Very helpful staff. The menu is varied and too many dishes are tempting-difficult to make a choice. The... More

A first class dinner. We have been several times before and it never fails to deliver. Delicious food - the selection of starters is so delicious that it is hard to choose just one. Staff are lovely especially their Front of House, Anna who as well as being incredibly efficient is always so welcoming.

We've visited The Richmond Arms several times and each one has been a delight! Our recent visit was just before Christmas. The food as ever was very good and Jacks eye for detail is clear to see. The produce they use is locally sourced and beautifully prepared. Its a no frills type restaurant, devoid of the pretentions, but that's its... More
