This restaurant is housed in the most architecturally beautiful building in Chapala. It's situated in front of the lake however; since it's on the opposite side of the parking lot you will only get an obstructed view of the lake and will spend your evening looking at vendor shacks. When approaching the restaurant the feeling quickly changes as the beautiful... More

It is a stunning setting -- we ate on the porch in the late afternoon. The waiter seemed to have been there a long, long time, and seemed somewhat distinterested, but no objections. We ordered a shrimp cocktail (totally different from what you get in the states -- we LOVED it, but it is very different). We ordered a filet... More

We have been associated with Chapala since 1982. This restaurant could be ever so much more! It is the former mansion of the Braniff family, of the defunct Braniff Airlines of years ago.We have dined here probably 5 times in 34 years and the best thing I have feasted on is a platter of delectable guacamole and totopos (chips). Meals... More

Sitting on the terraza of the beautiful old house built by the Braniff Airline family gives the feeling of having been there. The food was very good but the service was very slow. However, when the food came it was worth the wait.

As someone already noted, this restaurant has great potential to be a prized eating spot in the heart of Chapala. The location is superb with gorgeous views of the lake and malecon from the charming outside veranda. The building's historic architecture bespeaks Chapala's early, intriguing history but the food is definitely below average, especially when there are so many other... More

We stopped here for a margarita and an appetizer because of the location. It looked like a nice place. We were brought chips but no salsa. It took a long time to order our guacamole and margaritas. When the guac came we weren't given any more chips and still no salsa. We finished our drinks and left. Won't be back.

I've only gone here for lunch and always order soup, which is delicious. The Tlapenue, Tortilla, and I can't remember the others but all were great. The ambience is terrific and the service very good.

The best thing about this place is the service and that dining is on a raised porch outside. I find it interesting that the picture shows inside dining but we have never been offered dining inside, nor have I sen anyone else in there. It is right across the street from the entry to the Chapala malecon so there is... More

I was treated to eat there on my birthday, and sat on the verandah and watched the sunset through the palms. That was beautiful. The food was good. But we were hurried away.

If you have not visited this lovely restaurant and sat on the grand porch of the Braniff Mansion, then I recommend it. We have eaten their twice and were twice amazed with the lovely view of the malecon. Service is very attentive. The prices are ok (slightly higher than other restaurants in Chapala). The food is only average, but the... More
