We went for a early evening booking for 2 adults & 3 older teenagers. The decor in the Bull looks modern & smart giving a high quality finish, although the adults thought the tables looked a bit out of place style wise. The music playing was suitable for the adults and teenagers and helped to create a really nice ambience. The food ordered was a mix of vegan, dairy free and good old fashioned carnivores food. The waiter was attentive and asked if there were any allergies because of the choices. There weren't but it was good to know that they were switched on to the possibility. The starters and mains were well received. The Bull burger was impressive as we're all the dishes we had. The gravy with the slow roasted pork belly was extremely tasty, although the belly could have been just a little crispier for my liking. We didn't do deserts as no one felt the need, so on the journey home we marked the meal in the "Come Dine With Me" way... Overall scoring 40 out of 50.

What can I say, after the lock down and not being able to come and enjoy the Bull Inn. Finally we got to come see you again, absolutely worth the wait. Greeted at the door by a very polite young man, lead through to the dining area to meet Bethany (head of House) As usual such a lovely young lady. Then we get to eat, there are few words to explain how good the food is, the chef is amazing, the cream and mushrooms starter is divine, truly can't wait to eat here again. We are actually booking the wife's 50th birthday day party /meal here as it will make a special day extra special. Thanks to all the staff at the Bull Inn for an amazing meal and evening with you all

Visited this beautiful restaurant again with partner and 2 year old son. We can’t get enough of the fresh dishes on the menu. My partner had the burger and it looked and tasted amazing. My son had the pasta and meatballs which he thoroughly enjoyed however still left room to share my sticky toffee pudding which was the best Sticky toffee pudding I’ve ever tried! Keep up the good work

We went to the Bull Inn for Sunday lunch and I’m afraid we were not impressed, the staff were good but the food wasn’t up to standard, we sat outside and we were swarmed with flies. It could have been a bad day for the chef but needless to say we won’t be going back. Very disappointed.

Hello, Oh dear... it looks like you have the wrong Bull Inn listing. We have only had one table of six eat Sunday lunch in our garden since we re opened and they all said how wonderful it was. We have also only been taking bookings for food at present and have no name that corresponds with your name given above. We also have no evidence of this name on our track & trace documentation. Please would you be so kind as to remove this review when you see this reply. Hopefully you will come and try us in the future for your Sunday lunch as you can see from our many other reviews it seems to go down well. Many thanks.

We recently visited the Bull Inn for an evening meal and we were not disappointed at all. The food was well prepared and expertly cooked. Our friendly waitress ensured all was well with our meals, we had a little wait for the food, but that was absolutely fine as good food takes time to prepare. Despite being a bit too full for a tempting desert, we compromised and shared one, it was too good to miss out. A great evening and well worth the visit! ps. As ever in this new normal, covid procedures were very clear with directional signage/ sanitiser and entrance/exits clearly marked.

We booked here for a Sunday Lunch while staying at Centerparcs after reading the reviews and we are glad we did! Lovely village setting, friendly staff and a beautiful pub. We both had the very reasonably priced 2 course Sunday meal - one of the best roast dinners we’ve ever had. My beef was cooked to perfection and the accompaniments were likewise cooked well, with lots of of different veggies and generous portions. Service was prompt and friendly. Definitely recommended, I think we’ll book a room and come and stay in the future - well done to the team!

Brilliant Pub and BnB! Stayed here with work for 40 nights over February and March. Paul, Darren and David couldn’t have been anymore accommodating. They were always ensuring hygiene and covid regulations were being adhered to. The Room was amazing and had everything you could want. Breakfast was brilliant, once again David couldn’t have done anymore for me, he was always happy to prepare me anything i requested for breakfast each morning varying from cereal to a full fry up. The fry up was amazing and i would definitely recommend. Paul and Darren were great hosts and we would always have a chat and a catch up in the lovely courtyard and garden. Unfortunately i did not manage to spend anytime in the bar but from what i could see from the decor, looks a really nice homely village pub. I will definitely be visiting again when i am next in the area. Fantastic stay all round!

Overnight stay en route to visiting friends near Stowmarket. Beautiful old pub and building and very sympathetic conservatory area for the main resteraunt. Pretty outside patio seating area and gorgeous gardens. Our upstairs room was via an outside staircase, well lit in the evening - no trouble at all. Immaculate room and factilities, very quiet and spacious. Meals of steak and sausages and mash and bacon were excellently presented and cooked to perfection, 'proper' sausages and bacon very tasty. Ice cream puds were full of flavour (well done, ice cream suppliers!). Very friendly breakfast guy, very attentive and ensured everything was good. Darren was totally helpful with our parking spaces, with vehicle and small trailer and went out of his way to ensure that we were catered for. All in all, an excellent, relaxing experience alltold and we shall certainly stay again when back in Suffolk. And Woolpit village is delightful.

We had lunch on Tuesday and thoroughly enjoyed the meal and the friendly and efficient service so much we went again on Wednesday. Unfortunately we were told before we ordered that our lunch would be delayed by 20 minutes due to the booked tables being served first. It was a lovely day so we ordered a drink and were happy to wait 20 minutes. It took another 10 minutes before our order was taken and we finally received our order over an hour after sitting down. The pub was not as busy as Tuesday and the staff didn’t appear to be as efficient. It won’t stop us going again, but we were disappointed in the deterioration of service.

We are so glad that you enjoyed your food and service on Tuesday for your booked table. On Wednesday you had not made a booking. We always advised people to book to avoid a wait at busy times. Wednesdays lunch service was very busy at the time you arrived with other table bookings. When you walk in without a booking you always run the risk of having to wait for a slot. We time all our tables and note down times on our checks. No table yesterday lunchtime had to wait any longer than 15 minutes for food. So once your order was taken it was swift. Again we are glad you enjoyed the food, but would always advise booking to avoid disappointment.

Came across the Bull when researching pubs between Bury & Stowmarket and found lots of positive reviews for the food, so booked a table for 4 to celebrate my partner's retirement. It did not disappoint, the food was excellent. We ate from the new Spring menu, which isn't extensive but has plenty of choice, all the dishes we had were very tasty and reasonably priced. Staff were very friendly and there was a good atmosphere in the restaurant. We'll be back.

We have just had a most delicious meal at The Bull Inn. It had a lovely fresh and welcoming feel to it. The friendly staff looked after us well. Our waiter was a lovely young man who new his job well. The menu had an excellent selection of food and I really appreciated the range of DF and GF options. The quality of the food when it arrived was mouthwatering and tasted so fresh and flavoursome. After a generous starter and mains we did not get to sample the sweets. So to give a more rounded review we will obviously have to make a return visit!

Really tasty, well presented food tonight at The Bull in the restaurant from the specials menu. My husband had steak and crayfish with garlic butter, and I had cod encrusted with lemon and herbs served with scallops, chorizo, pea puree and new potatoes. This is the best food we have had out in a long time. Thoroughly enjoyable and we will be back soon. Highly recommended.

My husband and I had a lovely meal last night as a Valentine treat. Very warm welcome from friendly staff, our table was pretty with fresh rose petals and a complimentary glass of Prosecco. We both had fillet steak which was beautifully cooked and the red wine jus was delicious. Chocolate bread and butter pudding was to die for, thoroughly recommend. Great service and inviting atmosphere.

Literally googled places on the way home from Milton Keynes and found this gem. What a treat! Called up to make a reservation to be booked in promptly upon arrival. Restaurant was clean, comfortable… staff were very friendly& attentive. We were a family of 4 ( 2 younger children aged 5 ) we all had a starter, main and pudding and couldn’t fault any of them.. the kids meals were to a high standard and not the microwave meals you find in some pubs as soon as you mention childrens menu. All in all it was wonderful end to a wonderful day. The food was delicious, came out at the same time and presented really well. Will defo come back and would highly recommend!
