The place has a lot going for it. Maybe we just went at the wrong time. Waiters werent knowledgable of the menu, slow, struggled to take the order, no personality. Burgers tasteless. All this on a quiet a monday night ruined by a table so loud you could barely hear yourself think. Management in full sight but they couldn't care... More

We go there often for their super special breakfast! Very good vaue for money. The waiters/waitressess are always very friendly and efficient and I like the fact that the staff remains there for long periods (get to know their faces/names) Have had lunch and super there as well - very good variety to choose from. Great view!!

We often have breakfast at the News Cafe when we are visiting Cape Town. My son lives in the area and it's one of his local breakfast haunts. There is a great view of Table Mountain ( weather permitting ) and you can sit inside or out depending on the weather. We had a beautiful spring morning so sat outside.... More

It's right on Marine Drive, with the beach and stunning views of Table Mountain ahead. There is an upstairs and downstairs section. Wonderful to sit outside in good weather. The food is fresh, the service good and the prices reasonable.

My husband and I head for the News Cafe whenever we want breakfast but don't want to break the bank. The breakfast special is well worth the money and the fact that you can choose you cut of bacon as well as how you want it prepared makes all the difference. Don't forget to ask about the special -is not... More

Stopped here for pre-supper cocktails. Each tried a different cocktail and although very nice, they were also very expensive, over R300 for 4 drinks. Will perhaps return when they're half price!

We've been going to News Cafe regularly for about 6 months now and they never cease to amaze us - ALWAYS good value and consistently good quality. They are closing for renovations next weekend after Fathers Day and we cant wait to see what they are going to do with the transformation. John assures us that it will be more... More
