So happy to have a good local Indian place. Ive been 3 times now and am still finding interesting dishes on the menu. They offer a full range of house specialties along with standard Indian. It is fully licensed and drink prices are very fair. Weekday specials are sometimes offered. At time of writing it’s 20% off on Tuesdays which is a bargain. Serving sizes are larger than normal and we always end up taking lunch for the next day. Very happy to recommend this restaurant for dinner or for takeaways.

Another great dinner here

Another great dinner at this lovely little place. It’s so good to be able to have dinner with friends after Covid, and this is the 1st place we chose. A group of us got together for a 50th. The food was lovely as usual and they even played happy birthday over the PA System, brought out a selection of deserts and really made sure we had a sensational night.

Perfect takeaway

Now and then I feel like something seriously spicy. I phoned up and requested Extra Hot Prawn Vindaloo and some garlic naan. The lady double checked my request, explaining that Vindaloo is already very spicy, but they could make it Extra Spicy for me. The chef must’ve got the message as it was just what I wanted. Hot enough to break out a sweat after the first mouthful, and tasty enough that you can’t stop eating 🤣. The garlic naan was fresh and perfectly cooked. High 5 from me 👍

Terrible takeover

So disappointed. This restaurant was a “go to” for many years as Ghurkas both for dine in and takeaway including delivery. Tonight was the first order under new owners. The butter chicken has lost its smooth, fresh ingredient made from scratch deliciousness to a thick over creamy substitute. The lamb curry was SO oily that when I dip my naan bread into it none of the sauce sticks to the bread only the oil. The lamb in the curry is fatty and there are globules of fat . The raita tastes weird. Who puts corn in a raita? And to top it off they delivered it without rice. No rice. Sometimes I think immigrants or relative newcomers open restaurants because they’ve got a few recipes handed down from grandma but they in actual fact have no real flair, skill, talent or training to bring their cultural culinary heritage to a standard that is worth paying for. If you were my neighbour and you invited me for dinner I’d be grateful for your hospitality and efforts but slap a name on your rented premises, call yourself a restaurant and charge me $$$$$ and I’ll call you out for the imposter you are. I encourage you for your own sake to reflect on your cooking, do a course, over haul your practise and raise the standard. I don’t like to see we’ll intended businesses fail knowing there’s families, mortgages, livelihoods and dreams and hopes behind them. You’ve got a big name to live up to with the excellent food that was Ghurkas. I wish you all the best as you address the problem.

Crackingly good food

A bit late for a review but last week visited Kallaroos Curry House (in Kallaroo, lol). What a cracking little place. Onion Bajis were fantastic - perfectly cooked and not too oily or stodgy as in many other places. Chicken Pakora moist and flavourful. Main dishes were Chicken Tikka Masalla, Mangalorian Chicken Curry (phenomenal!) and 2 Prawn dishes (I forget which). All beautifully cooked and flavoured. Rice was perfect and Naan bread light and tasty. Service was excellent with all dishes coming out promptly. Doggie bag taken away and flavours were even better next day! Can highly recommend.

Great curry house

Second time to Kallaroo curry house. Not big or spectacular decor but the curries are top notch. And since I started this review and forgot to post it we have been back every one to two weeks. It has also become the extended family and friends go to place to eat. Have just about had everthing on the menu in the mild and medium catagory as a good medium curry has a fairly good amount of heat. Can't complain about any dish that we have eaten there and the garlic naan is the best I have had. Asked my wife where she wants to eat on valentines day and this is it. Went last wednesday. Some family and friends went friday and all loved the food. Have eaten in some good curry places in asia and england and this is as good as the best.

Order 2h late and cold....

They offer such lower price price on delivery that you you'd think it's a good thing....NO! Had to wait 2h to get a driver to deliver our 'food' at home. It was cold and went into the bin on arrival! Never this place again! beware, they don't give a toss about your well being. Multiple call did not resolved the situation. BAD RESTAURANT AND CHEAP AS..OLE!!!!!

So much better!

We’d not been here for awhile after a couple of average meals. Tonight turned that around for us. Every dish was brilliant and we couldn’t believe the difference. Not sure if there’s new people in the kitchen or they’ve just improved, but we’re so glad we went back. Prices are fair, service was perfect and not rushed. Thanks for a wonderful experience, we’ll be back again soon 😊

Another great dinner

We often get takeaway from here but dined in tonight. The ladies serving us were absolutely lovely. All of our dishes were wonderful and bigger than most Indian restaurants. The restaurant is nice and clean and should be busier than it was. It looks like a lot of orders are takeaway rather than dine in. This is the perfect place for a group function as there’s plenty of room and prices are fair. Thanks once again 😊

Great Food, Great Value!

Arrived around 6pm and were the first dining in customers. We chose a table next to the front window. Fantastic service and food. We ordered too much but we’re glad to take leftovers home! We chose: - Onion Bhaji starter - vegetarian samosas - Eggplant Masala - Prawn Masala - rice - garlic naan Total was less than $70! BYO or alcohol from menu. Highly recommended local Indian restaurant.

We haven't been out on a date night in ages and were so happy with the service and food standards at Curry House. The food was delicious and we will definitely be returning.

Not so nice not recommended

The lamb korma very is big chunks which was fatty and grizzly , mango chicken to sweet ....the prawns however was nicely cooked ..not recommended

Extremely dissapointing

Since changing from Ghurkas to Kallaroo Curry the food has deteriorated, every dish looks the same and most are drowned in creamy sauces Service whilst friendly was slower than a snail climbing a steep road covered in salt at one point i thought of ordering uber eats to deliver as it would have been quicker. So dissapointed will be a long while before i go back for another go
