Fabulous restaurant (also takeaway) with a wonderful menu. BYO or small bar selection. We have been here many times and never disappointed. Great food and very pleasant staff. Meals vary from mild spicy Indian dishes to very hot and spicy. You decide how hot and spicy and the chefs will accommodate you. 10 out of 10!!

The food was absolutely awesome, and the staff were friendly, and the service was great. Will definitely come back here for a feed.

Went here for dinner and was not disappointed. Nice atmosphere, good range of dishes and delicious meals.
Favourite dish was the butter chicken.

We’ve been loyal to this venue since day one. For years we used to go every chance we got. We were the most praising regulars and sometimes went twice a week.
After some average takeaway I gave it a miss for a few months, but 5 of us went for a Friday dinner tonight.
The table service was almost non existent. We eventually managed to wave a waitress over to take our order.
Then the mains came out but the extra glasses and plates hadn’t been cleared so the table was chaos. I asked for a fork 3 times before one arrived.
Our prawn dish was luke warm and we hadn’t had it before so we asked if it was supposed to be a hot or cold dish. She said we could have it hot or cold, but didn’t know what it was supposed to be. Then she agreed it should be hot but it was cold, so she kindly took it away and promptly microwaved it, The full plate including the limes and everything else, and dumped it back on our table!
Our butter chicken and lamb dishes were only just warm. The goat curry had 5 (yes literally 5) pieces of meat in it, and the butter chicken had 6. It was that obvious the serves were small that we counted the pieces for the fun of it!
It seemed like everything is now pre made and kept in a warmer. Maybe I’m wrong but that’s what it seemed like. The chicken tikka was the only dish that seemed fresh and hot.
Our rice didn’t arrive so we asked the waitress, who proceeded to ad another 2 rices to the order even though the 1st ones hadn’t even arrived.
A large table near us started serving themselves beers from the drinks fridge. A waiter raced over to them. I overheard them explain “well no one is serving us so we figured it must be self serve. Maybe just count the drinks and add them to our bill.”
This is not the Gurkhas we know. It’s not the place we supported for years.
I’m sorry because it was great having a lovey local restaurant. We don’t have one anymore.

We have been to this restaurant numerous times before and never had an issue. Tonight, however, with only 3 tables occupied, we had to constantly ask for service. The food was tasty but the servings seemed to be missing any meaty substance, they were largely sauce. Quite a few of the drinks we asked for were not available, despite being on the menu. It all just seemed like it was winding down. Hopefully it was just an off night....

Average interior but nice enough for a quick casual meal with friends. We ordered lamb korma along with a tandoori dish, rice and naan bread. I wish we had ordered two curries because the lamb korma was amazing. The tandoori dish was unfortunately really salty and quite dry but we could luckily use the korma sauce to mask the saltiness. Overall really good meal!

Have eaten at the Kallaroo venue many times. A must visit, the food was amazing, the service was great, the atmosphere is pristine.

I’m a huge fan of this place and have been going there since day one. The food is always amazing.
Tonight I decided to order takeaway for a change.
For 2 people I ordered 3 mains, rice and Naan bread. In the restaurant this would be plenty of food for 2, maybe even too much.
However, the serving sizes in our takeaway were dismal. The goat curry literally had FIVE pieces of meat, and the butter chicken wasn’t any better. When I opened the containers they were all full of sauces and we had to look around with a spoon to find any meat.
I never thought I’d be giving these guys less than a 5 rating but I have no choice.
Such poor value and very very disappointing.

When we arrived it was raining hard and the seven people in the restaurant kept their costs on - it was freezing in there. It took a good 20 minutes for someone to put some heat in there.
The service was good and friendly to start with but once everyone had left and we were the only ones left the heating went off, the music went off and pen clicking started - very unprofessional. Bearing in mind in was just after 8pm.
The food was average - beef Korma was tough and the mushroom bhaji was cold and bland. No real flavour.

Had a meal a few nights ago, new things to try on the menu and wow they didn't disappoint, great food friendly service amazing tastes and so much food we had enough for another meal to take home with us.
If you haven't tried Gurkhas before or its been a while get back and try again

Decided to stay in and order takeaway from Gurkhas as we heard the food was divine and was not disappointed. The meal arrived packed beautifully and not dripping in oils which is one of my pet hates. We opted for the goat curry and tandoori chicken and both were yummy and very tasty. Garlic naan was to die for. We were very impressed.

cant fault the food or service in any way.. ive eaten all over the world and these guys have really got it right.. yeah its not a flash restaurant and the location is what it is.. but value and quality is second to none..

Fantastic food and service. Great suburban restaurant. The lamb vindaloo is wonderful, and the naan bread is great. Easy to take children to, with plenty of food options and space at the tables.

We have eaten at the Kallaroo restaurant a number of times and have always found the food delicious. Last week we went to the Currambine restaurant and agin the food was amazing . Last night we went back only to see the Currambine restaurant has changed its name. The waitress reassured us it was the same owners so we offered our meal. The food was so bad we could not eat it. The ‘ specialty ‘ chicken dish was horrible and both chicken and prawns were hard. The lamb korma had exactly the same horrible flavour of the chicken dish and the lamb was so tough we could not eat it. The chicken tikka was lovely but the deep fried momo was so again so rock hard we could not eat it. We did express our disappointment however the waitress did not care. We were one of only two tables so no excuse really. Won’t be going back.
