Today I had lunch at the Old Bakery Tea Rooms. The experience was wonderful, the food was first class, tea was served traditionally in a teapot with china cups and saucers (Just as it used to be). Followed it with a beautiful slice of cake. The lady who served (Jane) could not do enough for us. Thanks for a lovely... More

This place is great for that 'dainty' occasion, cream tea, high tea, hearty snack - in an olde worlde atmosphere, and I mean genuine. The oak exposed beams are typical of this Civil War headquarters town, with its relics of times past. The meals are up to date and spot on. We ate a fluffy quiche; a real Mediterranean fritatta;... Visited today for tea and cake, lovely decor and friendly staff. My husband had a panini and I had a piece of cake, mind you I call it a piece but it was that thin it must have been difficult to cut. Foolishly I ate it without saying anything but when we paid and realised it had cost £4 we... More

Leisurely lunch at this beautiful old tea room. The food is very good quality and the coffee and cakes are excellent. Staff very attentive and knowledgeable. This was a first visit for a catch up with old friends. The atmosphere is quiet even though it was busy, probably due to the high, old oak beam ceiling. We shall certainly go again.

My partner and I popped into the Old Bakery with our two children last Saturday. We were looking for a breakfast style menu after a family walk by the river and were not disappointed. The waitress was very welcoming and friendly and the food definitely hit the spot (my eggs were cooked to perfection!) Having also been here with my... More
