We turned up for lunch with 8 without a reservation and they were extremely attentive, rearranging the tables in the courtyard to fit us together. Its a fabulous setting, backing on to the church with layers of sails to provide shade from the midday heat. The steak and crème brulee were devine and our 20 month old niece was kept... More

The highlight of this little restaurant set off the main covered square was the centre piece of the fireplace and the steaks that were cooked on it. Much is made of the French Steak et frites but with all the cuts of meat available I have never had such tender tasty well cooked steak. To the extent that I had... More

We discovered this charming restaurant by accident, while we were enjoying a driving tour trying to locate pigeonnaires. Our lunch was delicious and well-priced. I had a cheese plate that was a work of art, and our dessert - creme caramel - was absolutely spectacular. Our table was adjacent to the open fireplace, which added to the warmth and ambiance.... We visited on a cold night in February and sadly were the only customers. However we were warmly welcomed and enjoyed an excellent meal washed down with a superb local red. The USP of this restaurant is the meat being cooked over an open fire in the restaurant, so you get entertained as well as well fed. We started with... More

The grilled food is cooked on an open fire in the main restaurant which provides great entertainment as well as some delicious smells. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. I would recommend the steak, but only if you like it rare or at a push medium, the cook does not like ruining meat. We will certainly be back to... More

We had the menu du jour (quiche with lardons and cepes, followed by roast pork) and the house speciality of creme caramel. The charm comes from seeing the meat grilled on the open fire and the creme caramel burnished before your eyes. Very good value lunch of 3 courses and a quarter litre of wine for 15 Euros. Delightful team... More

We've been half a dozen times this year and the welcome and food are consistently great. The husband (kitchen) and wife (running around out the front) team are eager to please and create a family atmosphere in their lovely restaurant. The grills on the open fire are expertly created, the fish of the day always fresh and the desserts homemade.... More

A group of 11 of us ate here during our holiday. We all chose from different set menus. I had 3 courses from the €20.50 set menu. The duck gizzard salad starter was lovely. Took a risk as I had never tried duck gizzard before. It was really tender and delicious. Great fish dish as my main and pineapple carpaccio... More

Had my 60th Birthday party at this delightful restaurant. The owners discussed the fare and couple of days beforehand and we came up with a simple and reasonably priced menu for 17 people. They supplied a few birthday extras and a very enjoyable evening was had by all.

The Romuald is just off Lisle sur Tarn's beautiful achaded square and it is run by a husband and wife team. Both the welcome and the atmosphere are warm and friendly. The menu dosen't change much, but all the items on it are very good, especailly the steak cooked on an open fire. The wine list is good and the... More
