Went there after searching frantically for an available dinner place on a Monday night No regrets Food was good, based on recommendations from the wait staff Even the wine recommended cannot be faulted Special commendation goes to Kaylee, who went all the way to assist...More

The best way to sample eightysix is to sample it. Go all you can eat, and order a bit of everything. This is not a place to do the standard three courses, and the serving sizes are not geared towards it either. Explore the menu,...More

Enjoyed a casual business meal with great service, wonderful food and good local wine. What a gem in an emerging part of Canberra.

First of all, the service staff here are nice and friendly and personable. Where this place falls down is in its food. It is far too expensive and the ridiculous small portion sizes left us feeling unsatisfied at the end of the night.Combine this with...More

I went to eighty six for a meal on a Friday night. The food was beautiful, we had the ghetto steak, the carrot salad (which was impeccable) and caramel popcorn dessert. The staff were so beautiful and so lovely! Can’t flaw it. Would definitely recommend

We really enjoyed our evening at eighty-six. Fabulous food from a large, interesting modern menu. Dishes are designed to share so even with just 2 of us we were able to try 6 different things, highlights being tom yum prawns, salt and vinegar potato scallops,...More

The shared plates are great with enough of a selection to satisfy almost everyone without being overwhelming. The food was delicious with our favourite being the Tortellini. Service was great despite the restaurant being full, Adelaide look after us well, and nothing was too much...More

Went there to celebrate birthday with family and ordered 5 entrees and 5 mains. Service was descent, menu slightly pretentious and taste reasonable, but not the best. Presentation was however poor, just dumped on simple plates or in a bowl and portion size was appallingly...More

The atmosphere and customer service was superb but the menu was confusing with its details and for the price we paid for 3 mains and what we actually received on plate was not worth the price. We ordered two pasta dishes and the black chicken...More

Depends where you sit. Just ask for the quietest location when you book. It can be quite noisy in the middle, but not as bad as other smaller, more packed places.
