The positives are the staff (welcoming and conscientious without being overbearing), the atmosphere (relaxed and casual but not "cheap") and--for the most part--the food. We went on a Friday afternoon and it was great. Only a few other diners there and they seated us so...More

we love this restaurant but I'm not sure what happened this friday night as things were just that little bit left of centre. Don't get me wrong, the service was good, the food was lovely, but there was something missing and I can't quite put...More

It had been a couple of years since I'd been to Les Bistronomes, but my family had been a while I'd been travelling and knew what they wanted. Entrees were great. Escargots better than a couple of other places in the Canberra region, and the...More

The surprise is that it’s a proper restaurant in the pub precinct, and is surrounded by grill bars, from what I can see. But the food is good and the service is first-rate. Popular on a Wednesday night, which is not a big dining-out night.

A wonderful place - quiet, fine dining. Staff were very helpful with meal choices and wines to suit. Duck pate was amazing, the quail just melted in the mouth. Everything was perfectly cooked. The creme Brulle was brought out flaming (our waiter made sure we...More

Loved this place! Excellent food, wine and service. Like a little piece of France in Canberra. The duck was amazing! This is a must-visit for locals and visitors alike.

Best onion soup ever. Five courses $50 on Saturday. First taste of snail for one. Pork Belly. Raddichio salad with blue cheese divine. Beef cheeks with Paris mash. Crepes Suzette. Good french wine.

My first visit here was with a friend over a year ago. We lingered for hours over the shared beef Wellington and tarte tartin. Most recently, it was the bouilliabaise and lemon sole. Love the concept of the sharing plates, and the quality of the...More

You can... but not in civilised society. I suspect that they might ask you to leave. They may be appropriate footwear if you’re there to empty the bins.
