We recently had a small wedding reception at Ajo Italian Restaurant which is in The Welcome Hotel , the service was excellent and the food was of a very high standard. We were all impressed as serving a large group all at once is often a difficult undertaking.

My wife and I attended the Melbourne Cup luncheon at the Welcome, the restaurant décor is pleasant, the service attentive without feely pushed and the food was delicious

Ajo restaurant inside this small suburban hotel is a real find. The attention to detail in the preparation and presentation of the food is at a level we have not previously experienced in this type of environment. Our waiter was able to talk in detail about ingredients and procedures used in the kitchen and also was knowledgable about wine. As... More

really liked the cosy feel to the pub and their selection of beers and wine is good. They would have deserved 3-4 points for that by itself. Service was ok to good too. However the food was unfortunately quite a disappointment. The fish & chips were awful and the suckling pig burgers were lacking more coleslaw or something else. the... More

We had a wonderful lunch for four, sharing antipasti including chestnut tagliatelle with a rich venison ragu, salt cod croquettes, and swordfish belly, followed by the pasta of the day, and great deserts . Updated classic Italian food with Sardinian influences, a great wine list and attentive service in a garden setting with easy parking. Highly recommended

What a great pub. It's not big and flashy. It's geared up for the locals. It's independent and rotates the brews and ciders it has on offer, and it even has a great red wine selection. But wait, there's more. You can bring your dog. You can sit and relax with family and friends and enjoy a drink and a... More

We popped in here by chance to have a quick drink in the avo. I was surprised to see all the taps were craft beers, some of them rare finds. The bar has a lovely vibe and it was a treat to find. We'd definitely go back

Always good food, and recommended that you book in advance, particularly on special occasions like Mothers Day or Valentines Day. Menu is limited (even more so on those days, as they run a selected three course menu for $75/pp), and the food is generally of good to high quality. The quality of their produce has slipped a bit recently, with... More
