A nice spot to stop for lunch or tea when at the rocks. It gets busy but once you are seated it is very peaceful.

I visited the Tea Cosy a couple of years ago whilst on a business trip. I made such a song and dance about it to my wife when I got back that I promised I would take her the next time we returned to Sydney. We visited yesterday, it was great to see that it w as good as ever... More

Great place to sit back and relax with a homemade scone and jelly. Nice selection of teas. Nice portions of coffee. Unique environment with teapots everywhere in sight.

Visiting Sydney this weekend and have been here twice now (have been on a previous visit aswell). Scone are hot fresh and delicious with homemade jam and fresh cream! Highly recommend! Atmosphere is cute and fun (knitting on the tables!). Coffee is decent. Overall a lovely spot that we will come to again and again!

This is a cute little place with delicious tea and fresh scones. You can even knit while you enjoy your tea. Will definitely be back.

Adjacent to the busy Rocks Sunday market the Tea Cosy provides a nice option to sit down have a tea or coffee and relax before heading back out into the popular markets. Choice of inside or outside seating. As a tip make sure you get a table before you order as it is a busy place. Good value at $14... More

Friendly helpful staff, cute cosies, yummy tea and great scones. We found ourselves talking history and philosophy and really enjoyed our time. Service ends at 5pm but you are not rushed to leave. Our tea, cappuccino and scones came promptly and we felt as though we were in an early Australian 1920s drawing room. Simply charming. I tried my hand... More

We were in Sydney catching up with family so wanted somewhere "nice" to meet up around Circular Quay of the Rocks. Located at the North end of George Street just past where the markets are in the Rocks is this gorgeous quirky café full of tea pots and tea cosies (which you can purchase). The shop used to be an... Only stopped for coffee, and had to go in search of it, as it took so long. It was good coffee, but the staff seem totally perplexed that we had sat at an outside table. Perhaps we should have tried the scones.

Staying in The Rocks

Neighbourhood Profile
The Rocks
The first residents of the Rocks were convicts and sailors from the old nation. As the oldest neighbourhood in the city, the area's cobblestone streets host more than 100 heritage sites and buildings, including the oldest house in Sydney, Camden Cottage, which was built in 1816. Taste a “midi “ or a “schooner” of beer and dine “al fresco” on the waterfront at some of the oldest pubs in Sydney. The weekend markets at the Rocks are where you can find local artists' hand-made souvenirs, organic food and designer jewelry in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. To enjoy some of the best Australian and international contemporary art, the MCA museum is open every day and select evenings. At the end of a long day of sightseeing, be sure to save energy to dance the night away at the area's many late night entertainment venues.
