The staff were very attentive and accomodating. The scones were warm and fresh from the oven and the tea was great. There were so much food our group of 19 for a bridal shower had to take doggy bags home and they were still great the next day. Thanks to Ash for the prompt email replies and for being patient... We enjoyed The Tea Cosy a lot. The staff was friendly and attentive, the scones both vegan and regular were superb. The teas were high quality. The rooms and general athmosphere were cosy, jolly and generally delightful. Not too expensive either. Definitely coming back.

We were drawn into this place by the baskets of knitting on the tables out front and a deep thirst for fresh coffee. Also the customers outside were tucking into the most delicious piles of cakes and sandwiches as part of their cream tea experiences that made our mouths water and tummies rumble. When we stepped inside the decoration was... More

Came here with some friends as I've just moved to Sydney from Ireland. What a little surprise it was!! Feeling so at home here, the decor was so pretty and quaint. The waitress was so kind, I had recently laryngitis so speaking was difficult, as a gesture, she brought some honey on the side for my voice; so kind and... More

Thanks for your lovely review Maria, I'm so glad you enjoyed your visit to the Cosy. We are an Irish family that runs the tea room and we try to capture the look, feel and smells of Nanas old kitchen in small town Meath. Hope to see you again. More

Absolutely beautiful Teahouse! The old building, 40s 50s tunes, gorgeous china and wool! They have just released Vegan Devonshire Tea. Perfect! The scones are crisp on the outside and fluffy on the inside, the coconut cream is devine!! Jams are absolutely delish! The rhubarb raspberry vanilla jam is the best, however is a bit tart with the coconut cream but... More

Thanks so much for the lovely review Sandy. We really enjoyed vegan day and are so looking forward to the next one on February 18th. Next month we will be offering people the option of the coconut cream, or nuttelix buttery on the side. Hope to see you again soon. More

This is such a lovely gem! Find a seat first and then, place your order. We had to wait a few minutes for fresh scones -- they are baked throughout the day! And it was so worth it. Fun atmosphere and delicious scones!

After sight seeing around the Rocks market, had tea, cakes and scones in the garden of this lovely quaint shop. While waiting for the food, one can knit or crochet to bide away the time. The freshly baked scones melt in the mouth and the tea in fine china pots was piping hot. Service was good. Altogether worth a repeat.... More

Our party of 5 enjoyed a sumptuous High Tea. The aatmosphere was lovely with tea copies everywhere and even baskets of knitting to practice on. The High Tea was all we could desire with fresh ribbon sandwiches, hot scones, and lots of other goodies to feast on. The staff were very busy but always friendly and polite.

There is so many options on different teas including Scottish Tea! There rhubarb, raspberry & vanilla jam is amazing and there scones are still warm when served. They have balls of wool & knitting needles to do some knitting while enjoying a cup of tea. In love with this place, I want to go back!

Staying in The Rocks

Neighbourhood Profile
The Rocks
The first residents of the Rocks were convicts and sailors from the old nation. As the oldest neighbourhood in the city, the area's cobblestone streets host more than 100 heritage sites and buildings, including the oldest house in Sydney, Camden Cottage, which was built in 1816. Taste a “midi “ or a “schooner” of beer and dine “al fresco” on the waterfront at some of the oldest pubs in Sydney. The weekend markets at the Rocks are where you can find local artists' hand-made souvenirs, organic food and designer jewelry in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. To enjoy some of the best Australian and international contemporary art, the MCA museum is open every day and select evenings. At the end of a long day of sightseeing, be sure to save energy to dance the night away at the area's many late night entertainment venues.
