El loco is situated in the heart of Surry Hills. The food is good but can be a bit pricey for my liking especially when you're ordering from a pub with mexican decorations. The vibe leaves me with a bad taste. I'm not sure whether its the people, or every table being reserved and having to stand with a tiny... More

Found this as we walked around and a perfect stop. We happened along as a some local companies were taking their team out to lunch so a relaxed local vibe. Great guacamole, quesadilla and really enjoyed the zombie cocktail. Will visit again when we are back in Sydney as did remind me of our trip to Oaxaca a year ago.

Lovely welcoming staff. Best corn and chilli dog that I have ever had. Superb vibe and funky feel. A must visit for a Mexican to remember.

Honestly - the food at this "Mexican restaurant" was actually embarrassing. How they could serve this type of food is beyond me - especially for the money they charge. I was never expecting anything fancy given that it's really a pub but what they served was a joke. Disgusting. I'll never return that's for sure.

$6.50 tap beers (may have been happy hour) and 3 tacos for $20 (we had fish, pork, beef and chicken). Colourful Mexican decorations, outside and indoor tables. We went here with our 7yo daughter- turns out it's more like a pub that does Mexican, so no other children were there. Would recommend if you're looking for something casual.

Visited for lunch as the menu seemed more suited for lunch than dinner. Quirky place converted from an old hotel or dance hall. Sat outside on a quiet if slightly rundown area. We had 3 tacos, 2 were good with the beef not being as good. The cuban pork torta, the pork - from the pig spit - was excellent.... More

This place use to be a dive for indie bands. It was honest and we loved it for that. Notwithstand my preconceptions, I gave El Loco a go - I should not be so biased against what is clearly a tourist trapt. Right? I paid $16 for a salad that, for quality and quantity, would be unacceptable at a rural... More

The place its self is cosy and clean. The staff are nice and polite. The food is only ok. I don't think I would go back to be honest, not really my taste, I have had this food ( tacos etc. ) a lot and there was nothing wrong with the food, but not to my liking.
