This restaurant is a busy place. We were a group of 5 and needed time to decide what to order. The staff were friendly and patient, until an older waiter - possibly the owner - he actually walked around as if he owned the place. He was abrupt when we asked about the dishes. He just wanted us to order so... More

We have been to The Eight numerous times and always found the food reasonably good however dependent upon the time that you arrived. It is very popular with the Chinese community and rightly or wrongly the what staff do treat them differently as I have noticed when we go there with our ' Chinese ' family' ! This time we... More

I found the food at this place quite good, however the service was very disappointing. My two friends and I are not Asian, yet we found that most of the wait staff either ignored us, or would walk right past us without offering us what they were serving. We were never asked once if we wanted a drink either. Meanwhile,... More

Not cheap, but food pretty good. Biggest problem I found was that some of the dishes ,other than the 2 dumpling type item we tried was that there was too much food and that cut down the number of dishes you get to try. There were only two of us which meant we were restricted to 5 plates. The larger... More

Inside the restaurant there was a big rat that crossed our path as we , 2 ladies were going out of the restroom! That was around 8:30 on Jan. 18 It ran on the carpet towards the right . The restaurant still had people eating but on its path there were no people( fortunately)I don't know if the area it... More

This is very popular with the Chinese community, so you can be sure it is great Chinese food. Do not expect peace and quiet however as it is crowded and people tend to be having a good time and speaking loudly. I enjoyed the chicken feet especially, the garlic beans, spring rolls and prawn dumplings. Lots of dishes are offered... More

Even if your not Oriental, you can enjoy the food at The Eight. Staff swamp you upon arrival and fill your table with tasty Yum Cha, then they pass the table less frequently. Food is very delicious, and affordable, however it is better if you dine with a small group, rather than a couple.

Went mid week and restaurant was very crowded but got a table which was quickly cleaned and presented. The trolleys were ample and came around very often. The crumbed calamari and pork ribs were very tasty. A very well dressed mature lady was asking diners at various tables if they were satisfied with the food, something I have not seen... More

We were here for a celebratory lunch with our relatives following a family wedding. In the main area of the restaurant, yum cha was being served, but our lunch was planned as a multi-course meal in a large private room. The service was exceptionally good, with the staff totally unflappable despite the size of the crowd that they served. The... More

We were fortunate enough to have a private room which was an oasis of calm. Highly recommended if you have a large group. Lobster, Peking duck, steak, s&p calamari were all amazing! Service was sublime. These guys really know how to treat you like a king. It's pricey but worth it👍😊👍😊
