Food was completely average and way over priced (made worse by the fact we had to order from the bar and then pick up our food from the kitchen). Clearly milking the tourists!

they have arrangement to sit inside as well as outside, the food was really good, the sit outs on the road isnt big and is kind of crowded as the tables are lcoated too close to eachother. If you cross the raod and walk across then you are on the waterfront.

If you're not in Sydney for very long don't go hunting for food as right next door to The Holiday Inn Old Town is this little gem. Visited with our 14 year old and was ushered to the back as there are no children allowed in the main bar. I realise that the food is only as good as the... More

What you would expect from a pub. Great location, inside and outside seating. Great place to watch the tourists, have a beer and enjoy the typical pub food.

Enjoyed a good pub meal at a decent price here. They have inside seating, on the street and internal courtyard seating, so good for all. My burger was a little over-done, as the new trend is a little on the pink and juicy side, so I hope they catch up with that soon

We visited Sydney for a few days and the Observer was our go to place for a schooner of cold beer. Several flavours on tap. Staff is extremely friendly. We tried the food, but unfortunately with the exception of the beer battered chips the food was disappointing. But if you are looking for an "old school" pub to stop in... More

I enjoyed a great Caesar salad and wife enjoyed her Quinoa salad. The place is a basic pub but with friendly staff. Great when exploring the Rocks area.

This place I can really recommend for a "afternoon" tea. Excellent atmosphere for a pint. Don't miss when visiting Sydney.

Staying in The Rocks

Neighbourhood Profile
The Rocks
The first residents of the Rocks were convicts and sailors from the old nation. As the oldest neighbourhood in the city, the area's cobblestone streets host more than 100 heritage sites and buildings, including the oldest house in Sydney, Camden Cottage, which was built in 1816. Taste a “midi “ or a “schooner” of beer and dine “al fresco” on the waterfront at some of the oldest pubs in Sydney. The weekend markets at the Rocks are where you can find local artists' hand-made souvenirs, organic food and designer jewelry in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. To enjoy some of the best Australian and international contemporary art, the MCA museum is open every day and select evenings. At the end of a long day of sightseeing, be sure to save energy to dance the night away at the area's many late night entertainment venues.
