I have travel to Sydney many times before and every time I go, I always stop by at pancakes on the rocks. Both Strathfield and Darling Harbour locations are great, however I take preference to Darling Harbour due to its accessibility and prime location. Do note, however, that due to its prime location, there is usually a line up outside... More

Was rather late for breakfast and pleasantly surprised that this place was still serving, after 12 noon. Not crowded on Sunday morning and so we enjoyed quick, friendly service with a variety of menus from sweet to savoury on offer. Portions were generous, camomile tea was refreshing, the atmosphere was relaxed and surroundings pleasant, so close to Darling Harbour.

Came in downstairs around 4pm looking for an enjoyable early dinner after visiting the Lego exhibit. It was just my husband and myself and we are polite, well dressed people without over the top expectations. It was quiet, no lines and there were plenty of small booths available near the windows. We asked for a booth for two. The attendant... More

This is a family restaurant. The choice of meals is quite good. The choice of wine leaves a bit to be desired. The pancakes are good, the steak is average.

Went to Pancakes on the rocks for a quick dinner. The service was prompt, there was a small line, so had to wait a few minutes. I haven't been to Pancakes in years since I worked there over 20 years ago. Was pleasantly surprised, the meal was great and very filling. Price was approx $15 each for the meal. Didn't... More

We walked over to Cockle Bay from Central Business District in search of a place for early morning breakfast. Many of the eateries at the Harbour and at the Shopping Center were either closed or under construction. We ventured upon a second Pancakes on the Rocks at the end of the shopping center at the bottom of the Pyrmont Bridge.... More

Whilst in Sydney we ate breakfast here around 3 or 4 times. Great pancakes and the bacon is delicious. Plus you can also get a good cup of tea. Just what you need when about to start a day of sightseeing! Prices were also reasonable for Sydney.

I highly recommend Pancakes on the Rocks. My friend and I visited for breakfast and we had the Bananarama and the Strawberry Patch Pancakes. You get 3 very good size pancakes which were delicious. I had a huge amount of strawberries on my plate. We also ordered a hot chocolate and a cappuccino. I would have liked the drinks to... More

We visited twice for breakfast and loved it both times. Good size servings for the reasonable price. The wait staff were friendly and professional on both visits.

The staff were more interested in having a private conversation that serving customers. We were told to take the table in the corner as the waitress walked off. I saw one server walk to a table, throw the menu down then walk off without once acknowledging the customer because he was talking to another server. The food was bland. The... More

Staying in Darling Harbour

Neighbourhood Profile
Darling Harbour
The original docklands of Darling Harbour have been transformed into a tourist mecca with entertainment for the whole family. Cockle Bay Wharf offers dining options from budget to upscale and million dollar views of the harbour. Young crowds gather on weekends for nightlife that ranges from salsa clubs to Dj’s. Families can visit the Chinese Gardens of Friendship or the Sydney Aquarium, one of the largest in the world. The Sydney Maritime Museum and the IMAX theatre are also popular attractions. The Harbourside Shopping Centre is a site unto itself, with hundreds of shops, restaurants and bars. On Saturdays in the summer, the city puts on a spectacular fireworks show along the harbour's shore and there are plenty of other free events during the year - Darling Harbour Fiesta, VIVID’s light installations and the Sydney Festival, just to name a few.
