It's Makoto - one of the best places in Sydney to grab a sushi whether it's for a quick indulgent solo bite or a casual meal with friends. Only complaint is staff usually give you sushi off the belt instead of making a fresh one and it's a wee bit pricier than other joints.

We had the most tasty sushi here: scamps, sushi, fish soup, all delicious and fresh.Prices are ok: 3-7$ per 2 sushis. The also serve fine green tea based deserts.

Had lunch twice on our visit to Sydney. Remember eating here years ago. The sashimi is great quality and fresh. Good variety going around so we didn't need to order from the menu.

It's hard to get in, with queues throughout the lunch period, then it shut at 2:30 and I decided to go shortly after it reopened at 5:30. The train perhaps doesn't have enough variety but it does have interesting things like abalone and lobster along with good quality salmon and tuna. The gyoza doesn't stay fresh for long and isn't... Really good sushi, service is very polite and friendly, food is very fresh and delicious and that means good value. It's obviously a good restaurant as whenever we go there the place is always packed. Hard to find a better sushi restaurant.

Been visiting Makoto regularly for the past 8 yrs and always been amazed how freshly the fish is, nicely done Ngiri, nice slice and combination of sashimi and how authentic it is (consider how many Korean sushi in the CBD) ,even it is a "kaiten" (fast food), conveyor belt sushi with good value of money. Through out the last few... More

Probably one of the best sushi places outside of Japan . Original dishes with original service. Saw boxes of Huon salmon go into the kitchen, none of this Tassal stuff. Green tea was the real thing, not a teabag in sight.

Quite a few salmon plates but the choice was otherwise limited. The tempura prawns were cold and fatty like they had been deep fried too long. The service was fast and friendly. They made a mistake with a drink order and fixed it quickly without any fuss. The restaurant itself has boxes and stuff everywhere and needs a good clean.

Searching for Sushi I ended up this sushi bar. Very nice place and the staff is greeting everyone entering the bar with a special sentence. Sushi was very good and very reasonable priced (especially for Sydney CBD). Only missed the option to order a nice Japanse beer
